Bluetooth drops & does not automatically re-pair after boot

Win 10/64 10586, HP z5000 Bluetooth mouse, Dell xps L502X laptop latest Intel Centrino Wireless 3.0 driver 10.0.10586.122
Initially pairs and works, drops after a period, and will not re-pair after a reboot; bluetooth still sees the mouse and states it is paired. Have to either remove and then add again, or, on bluetooth settings, remove and wait for it to say "ready to pair", and then re-pair it. All a bit of a pain.

In addition to the above, we have downloaded the latest software from Intel, we have also tried uninstalling the devices from the device manager. MS says we have the latest software!!

I can see many Bluetooth issues on Windows 10, plus I guess the driver software is quite old, and maybe Bluetooth 3 is uncomfortable with win 10.

Is worth getting a Bluetooth dongle using version 4? Would it be guaranteed to work?

So what's the best answer here to avoid the hassle?

    :)

  2. N82 - Bluetooth disconnects with Garmin Nuvi 610T

The re-pairing process has not worked, the Bluetooth connection still drops mid call and a reconnection cannot be made until re-booting the phone.

  3. Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse Must Be Removed & Re-Paired To Be Used

I have a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse paired on both my Dell XPS 15 L521X and Asus VivoTab Note 8, both running Windows 10, and the following behavior occurs on both.

I can successfully pair and discover the device, and it functions fine. But if I shut down the mouse and bluetooth on the computer, then turn it on at a later time, the device does not automatically reconnect. Instead, I must first unpair the device, then
    re-pair it.

When I open Show Bluetooth devices upon a shutdown, I do see that the device is still paired. However, when I turn on the mouse and hit the bluetooth pairing button on it, it does not reconnect, although the indicator light is flashing, suggesting its discoverable.
Only after I un-pair and re-pair does it work.

I do have Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center installed on both devices.

Is there any way to get these devices to connect with the Sculpt Comfort Mouse when discoverable without having to un-pair and re-pair each time? Thanks.

Bluetooth drops & does not automatically re-pair after boot

On my Dell Notebooks the Bluetooth adapter is part of the Wi-Fi adapter, turn Wi-Fi off and Bluetooth is also off. Do you see the Wi-Fi still working when Bluetooth is having problems?

Hi, and thank you for yr support...........

Yup, you're right the wifi/Bluetooth are on the same adapter. I was having probs earlier with wifi also dropping spasmodically, but since I updated the drivers to version 15.4.1.1 I it hasn't dropped. My guess is from reading reports that Win 10 is not great on BT, just want to know what would be the best way to fix it, as I'm sure MS aren't going to provide any info on what they are or plan to do. Should I change the wifi/bt adapter, get another bt mouse, or just get a BT dongle? The latter is the cheapest route, but only if it works! Or I guess get rid of BT and get a plain vanilla wifi mouse?

I just know that going from win 7 to 10 on older machines is fraught with issues, so it's not as "free" as one would think.

Yeah, BT can be problematic. I use Microsoft's BT mice on both Windows and Mac OS X Notebooks plus 1 Targus on Windows and do have intermittent disconnects I usually attribute to battery quality, seem to work best/longer with Eveready rather than Duracell. I'd agree with using a USB mouse such as Logi-Tech or Microsoft IF there's sufficient USB ports needed for other things such as Thumb drives and External HDDs, my MacBook Pro has only 2 such ports, can be limiting at times. I use a BT dongle on a Desktop mainly for pairing with a cellphone and Palm TX PDA.
