  1. Bluetooth earbuds causing Windows 10 (Pro) to freeze up every 5 seconds

I've tried googling but to no avail so thought I'd check here. I've got wireless headphones with usb dongles normally that work perfectly, but thought I'd use a pair of "real" bluetooth earbuds to rest the head (cheap-ish Taotronics 53) but Windows (10 Pro) really acts up when I do. I use a Surface Laptop 3, if that matters.

Pairing is ok, but as soon as I play music (Spotify, Winamp) it causes Windows to freeze for 1-2 sec every 5-6 secs, including mouse pointer, so rendering it completely unusable. If I don't listen to anything the problem eases up a bit.. or at least I think it did.

It doesn't matter if I use the headset or stereo audio device (or select a completely different device for input just to check). Anyone knows if this a known Windows problem that can be solved or if the headphones are the more probable cause? I've only used them with my phone before with no issues.

  2. Bluetooth TWS earbuds shown on Bluetooth list

On your Windows 10 PC, go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

Next, you need to place the earbuds into pairing mode. See instructions for your earbuds on how to accomplish this. Your earbuds cannot be added until you first place them into pairing mode.

Go back to Windows and click on the "Add Bluetooth or other device". Select "Bluetooth".

It may take a few seconds, but the earbuds should show up as a device that can be added. Select the earbuds.

NOTE: You reference the message on the computer saying that your computer is now discoverable. Note that in this case that is irrelevant. It is the other way around that is needed. The earbuds need to be discoverable (accomplished by placing them into pairing mode) so that they can be added to the computer.

Connecting Bluetooth Earbuds to my Laptop

Here's how to connect your Bluetooth earbuds to your PC. It's mostly about Bluetooth, rather than Windows. And if you were hoping the process would be simple and obvious ... guess what? It's not.

Bluetooth is actually a wireless network technology, very similar to WiFi. What you have are actually
Bluetooth-enabled earbuds, because they have the ability to connect to a Bluetooth network.

The unique thing about a Bluetooth network is that the network exists only between your Bluetooth-enabled earbuds and the Bluetooth adapter in your computer. That makes a Bluetooth network more secure than a WiFi network, because anyone can join a WiFi network.

    Get ready, here we go:

Step #1: Make your Bluetooth devices discoverable: Put your earbuds and your Bluetooth adapter into discovery mode. That's like joining a dating website - you've made yourself discoverable to other people. The instructions that came with your earbuds
should say how to put them into discovery mode. Putting your Bluetooth adapter into discovery mode is a two-part process:

    • Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth and other devices and add your computer's Bluetooth adapter as a 'device.'

    • Once you done this you'll see the control to turn Bluetooth 'on.'

Step #2: Pair your earbuds to the Bluetooth adapter. This is like exchanging contact information with someone on that dating website. Your earbuds and the Bluetooth adapter exchange information, so they don't have to go through the whole setup process every
time you want to you use Bluetooth-enabled earbuds. Once your earbuds are paired, they show up in the list of devices on that same page in the Settings app.

Here's how my Bluetooth-enables earbuds look:

Step #3: The final step is to actually meet the person you found on the dating site. In Bluetooth, as in life, that's called 'connecting.'

Now your earbuds are ready to use.

Of course, there are many gotchas that you might encounter, but let's see how far you get with the above.

Can't add a second Bluetooth Earbud Device to my Settings - Devices - Bluetooth & other devices- Audio

    Greetings,

I'm having trouble setting up a second set of Bluetooth Earbuds in Settings so I can use them when my first pair of earbuds run low on Battery. I already have a set of BlueWow A5L & BlueWow A5R listed in the Audio section under Bluetooth & other devices.
I also have them listed in the Device Manager (which I think were automatically added) when they were "Paired" under Bluetooth Settings Months ago. So today I go to add or pair a slighly bit older model of bluetooth earbuds than the BlueWow's & less expensive
too & I can't add or "pair" them in Settings - Bluetooth- Audio. If so I then could have them "connect" when I added them and use them to listen to my streaming movies, etc... if they were "paired" like my two BlurWows. My 1st question is can you have 2 sets
of bluetooth earbuds in your Settings - Devices - Bluetooth and other devices - Audio? Because, if not then that would answer my question.

I think you can because I have 2 different USB WI-FI Wireless Network Adapters in the section below, listed under "Other Devices".

What is going wrong? What am I doing wrong? I go to set-up the 2nd pair of Earbuds called TWS 7, but they just won't become "Discoverable". For about two seconds after tapping the button in the Settings - Bluetooth section they became discovered, but then
they just disappeared. Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Respectfully,

    Barry
