Windows 10: Bluetooth Hands-Free Microphone and Sound Quality

Greetings,


Due to Covid-19 I had to stay at home and attend a lot of video call meetings. Sadly I found out using bluetooth headphones is not really optimal for these cases.


Then I did some research:


It looks like I can either use my bluetooth headset as headphones only, which results in awesome sound quality, albeti no mic functionalty or I can use "Hands-free" mode which allows use of mic and headphones at the same time with stone age sound quality.


All the pages I visited including some answers here in Microsoft page pointed out that this happens because the bandwidth of Bluetooth communication is not enough to support both high quality sound AND mic+headphone functionality.


This issue is not specific to my brand of headphones or my computer. There are many questions even here on MS pages that complain about this issue.


My Question is:

"How come I get awesome sound quality AND mic+headphone functionality when I am using my headphones on my smartphone but not windows 10?"

...and please don't give me standart answers like reinstall/update your drivers etc. Done those already.

Bluetooth Sound Quality is Terrible

lenovo support forums I've fixed my problem!

• Right click the speaker icon in the system tray by the clock
  
• • Click 'Playback devices'
• Change the default to the 'headphones'

the lenovo support link has screen shots, fyi.

"Some bluetooth devices have
2 modes: Regular listening device and a "handsfree" mode where you can use both the audio and microphone. If you somehow got switched to
handsfree mode, then the audio quality will be much worse since some of the
bluetooth bandwidth will be taken up for the microphone."

 

Bluetooth handsfree better quality

Is some how posibble to get better audio quality sound when bluetooth headphones are on hands-free mode? Because when is only audio, sound qaulity is good (16bit 44kHz), but when i need talk through microphone, audio quality is changed to poor (16bit 8kHz), like old radio. Or i do not hear something through headpones. I have Creative Sound Blaster Jam.

Simple, have set Bluetooth Audio Renderer (bluetooth stereo audio), for playing, with Bluetooth Audio Input Device (Bluetooth Hands-free audio), for recording?
