Windows 10: Bluetooth Headphone Won't Connect in Stereo Just in Hands Free

HiI have a pair of WH-1000XM4 headphonesPre their update 2.5.0 I got them to work as when connecting via Bluetooth it showed both LE and Stereo and I selected the Stereo, it worked great and audio was very good. Since I reinstalled Windows 10, the Bluetooth pairing only shows WH-1000XM4 and Windows defaults to Hands Free and consequently the audio is very poor and headphones are unusable. How can I change a device from Hands Free to Stereo when then Stereo one isn't listed in Devices?There seems to be no way to change this or add the Stereo device?It works on my other Windows 10 laptop and o

Stereo Bluetooth Headphones do not reproduce stereo sound

Bluetooth 4.x headsets (headphones with microphone) have two modes:
1. Stereo headset speakers with NO microphone
2. Mono headset speakers with microphone

I see in the listing for your headphones it shows a microphone. Make sure your the audio is configured correctly so that you have stereo headphone speakers.

With your headphones connected with Bluetooth

Left-click on little speaker (bottom right on desktop)





You should see current speaker for computer
In this example headphones in stereo is selected





If you click on Headphones you will bring up all options

Right-click on little speaker (bottom right on desktop)





Select Sounds from list





If you want Stereo Headphones but NO microphone

Select Playback tab
Make sure Headphones is the current playback device





Select Recording tab
Make sure Microphone array (or similar) is the current recording device

 

Zoom Audio not playing when connected to bluetooth transmitter

Bluetooth headsets have two modes because Bluetooth 4.x does not have enough bandwidth for both stereo speakers and a microphone at the same time.

• Hands-Free = Mono speakers + microphone
• Stereo = Stereo speakers + no microphone

Bluetooth headphones only need one mode because they don't have a microphone.

• Stereo = Stereo speakers

Airfly Pro is only designed to be used for stereo headphones or stereo speakers

I assume you are plugging the 3.5mm plug for the Airfly Pro into the input for the speakers
You then connect the laptop to the Airfly Pro using Bluetooth
For speakers in Zoom select Bluetooth Stereo
For microphone you select some microphone such as the one built into the laptop

The limitation of this setup is that you will only hear one side of the call on the speakers. What you say into the microphone won't be heard at all on the speakers. Another problem is that Bluetooth only has a maximum range of about 30 feet.

 

Bluetooth headphones can't use stereo, only hands free audio

Hello there!

I recently bought new headphones. I never had Bluetooth headphones before so I also had to buy a usb bluetooth dongle.

I can connect my headphones but if I connect them, I can only use them with hands free audio and not with stereo audio. In the bluetooth settings they also only show up as "voice connected" and not "voice and audio connected". I do have audio though but it's really bad because it's only the hands free audio. There is no possibility for me to select them as stereo audio because it just doesn't exist. I have already tried everything but I didn't find any solution so far. There is also one device without drivers shown under "Hardware" called "OTA1". It might have something to do with it but I don't know. It definitely belongs to the headphone but I have no idea if it has something to do with the stereo audio. The Hardware-ID of OTA1 is BTHENUM\{66666666-6666-6666-6666-666666666666}_LOCALMFG&005d.

The same problem also appears if I connect other bluetooth headphones, so it's most likely not because of the headphone.

I hope someone can help me because I really have no idea why I can't use my headphones with stereo audio.
