So, I have a weird issue occurring with my laptop. I have a Surface Pro 6, regularly updated. This issue only seems to occur with my laptop, not my phone or any other devices, leading me to believe it's either Windows 10 or my laptop itself. When my Bluetooth headphones are connected to voice calls or video conferences, the audio output just cuts out. It remains connected, and if I switch the output source to another source and back, it comes back on. However, without fail, it will periodically just drop the audio. This has been incredibly frustrating for video calls because I cannot use any Bluetooth audio devices.

Audio from music, podcasts, and the like never drop. There is no stutter, it literally only drops during audio/video conferencing. This includes Zoom, Discord, and so on. The issue does not occur with wired headphones, and speakers function normally. I can always get the audio to function at first, but it will without fail drop during conferencing.

    :)

Bluetooth headphones 'connected', Audio, Voice not connected

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand how difficult it is, when the device doesn't work in the way it should. For us to isolate the issue and to assist you better, we'd like to ask you a few questions.

    1. What is the make and the model number of the computer?

    2. What is the make and the model number of the headphone?

    3. Are the speakers muted when the headphone is plugged in?

    4. Are you aware of any changes made on the computer prior to this issue?

We can try a few steps and check if we can fix this.

Method 1: Remove and connect the Bluetooth headphone and check.

    1. Press Windows key + I together to open Settings.

    2. Click on Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

    3. Now click on the Bluetooth headphone and click on Remove device.

    4. Turn off Bluetooth and the headphone and turn them back on, and Connect.

If the issue persists, try method 2.

Method 2: Enable the Bluetooth headphone.

    1. Right click on the Volume icon on the taskbar.

    2. Click on Sounds.

    3. Navigate to Playback tab.

    4. Right click on an empty space and select Show Disabled Devices.

    5. Check if the Bluetooth headset is showing in the list.

    6. Right click on the Bluetooth headphone and click Enable and check.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest you to refer this article on

Bluetooth Connection Issue - headphones, LE vs regular connection

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forum.

To have a better clarity on the issue and guide you accordingly, respond to the questions listed below:

    1. Have you tried connecting the headphones to another computer and check if it’s working fine?
    2. What is the make and model of the computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you with few simple steps. Kindly follow the same.

Step 1: Troubleshoot problems with Bluetooth accessories.

If you can turn on Bluetooth but are having problems pairing or using a Bluetooth accessory, kindly follow the article which gives you steps on
Audio troubleshoot problems from - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14169/windows-10-fix-bluetooth-problems

Step 2: There are two terms regarding Bluetooth: pairing and connecting. Pairing is the introduction of one device to another. Once paired, they will stay in each other’s memory until manually erased. Once a device
is paired, the headset can then connect to that device to receive audio or voice from the device.

    • Go into the device's paired list and manually select the Bluetooth.
    • You may need to clear your paired list in your headset and re-pair your headset to your device.
    • To clear your paired list in your headset, follow these steps: on the headset, press and hold the call and volume – buttons for 10 seconds
    • The headset will revert to discoverable mode (slowly blinking LED), allowing you to re-pair the computer you want connect.

    We await your response.

    Regards,
