Windows 10: Bluetooth Headset input microphone does not work on HP Notebook running Win11

I have a Phillips TAH4205 headset which works fine for both Audo Input & Output on Dell laptops. I also have an HP Elitebook 840 GB Notebook running Win 11 and output works fine however, Input does not work. I have downloaded & installed latest bluetooth drivers from HP & MS Updates. The Audio troubleshooter ONLY tests Output, never even an option for Input microphone ... why not?RegardsTerry

Bluetooth Headset Microphones Don't work with Windows 10

I cannot get any bluetooth headset microphone to work with Windows 10. I have tried three different bluetooth headsets, most recently a Corsair Gaming H2100. I have no problem getting the audio output to work just fine with any of them, but I cannot get
it to recognize the microphone. I have followed all of the obvious steps:

• Uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version of the drivers
• Restart my computer
• Disable other microphones
• Set the headset as the default recording device
• Check the levels and set to 100
• Remove the device with the device manager and reinstall
• Unplug and plug back in my bluetooth antenna
• Make sure that Windows is totally updated

None of these steps has made any difference. I am able to get wired microphones to work, but this isn't ideal with my current set-up, as I sit about 10 feet away from my computer and use my 55" television as my monitor. So, I have a really nice webcam that
I use as a microphone. It is fine, but I would really like to be able to use a bluetooth headset sometimes and not have to talk loudly to a microphone across the room.

HP Pavilion desktops headphone and microphone input

It appears to be a headset icon. So it could work but I need an adatper. What about the ports on the back? Can headphone be plugged into audio "line out" (port 6) and microphone into port 7 (refer to image above)

 

Input for bluetooth headset is not working, but output is working.

It sounds like the input for your bluetooth headset is not working, but output is working. Sorry to hear this. Kindly apply the solutions below to see if the problem solved.

1. Connect the headset to another device and observe the result.
   
2. Click Start > Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices > Delete this device from the bluetooth device list and then reconnect it.
   
3. Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone > Make sure that Microphone access is enabled.
