Windows 10: Bluetooth headset loses audio when OS access its microphone

It used to work properly recently, but now I can't make calls over Skype or Viber. When a call starts all audio on my end disables, but the interlocutor does hear my mic.

Audio also turns off when I open audio & video settings in Skype, or the tab "Recording" in control panel's Sound settings

I tried reconnecting the headset, disabling and re-enabling buetooth, ticked off "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" on both headphones and the microphone, and it didn't work.

I also didn't install any specific drivers, the system automatically recognized the headset when I first connected it.

Bluetooth Headset Microphones Don't work with Windows 10

I cannot get any bluetooth headset microphone to work with Windows 10. I have tried three different bluetooth headsets, most recently a Corsair Gaming H2100. I have no problem getting the audio output to work just fine with any of them, but I cannot get
it to recognize the microphone. I have followed all of the obvious steps:

• Uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version of the drivers
• Restart my computer
• Disable other microphones
• Set the headset as the default recording device
• Check the levels and set to 100
• Remove the device with the device manager and reinstall
• Unplug and plug back in my bluetooth antenna
• Make sure that Windows is totally updated

None of these steps has made any difference. I am able to get wired microphones to work, but this isn't ideal with my current set-up, as I sit about 10 feet away from my computer and use my 55" television as my monitor. So, I have a really nice webcam that
I use as a microphone. It is fine, but I would really like to be able to use a bluetooth headset sometimes and not have to talk loudly to a microphone across the room.

Computer Not Using and or Not recognizing Headset Microphone

Recently I got a gaming headset but upon plugging in the headset my microphone jack, I realized my computer was not picking up audio from the headset mic. I have looked through other forums but I still cannot find a solution to this problem. I have looked at the sound settings and saw that under the recording category, It shows a second microphone device that is only accessible by plugging in my headset. But when doing so I've noticed that when talking into my headset mic the recordings menu does not show any signs of sound. But if I tap my headset the sound meter goes up. This makes me think that my computer only picks up sounds around the headset and not the mic itself.

Other Info
1) For my sounds, video and game controllers in the Device Manager I have High Definition Audio Device and Intel(R) Display Audio listed.
2) I have a windows 7 upgraded to windows 10

 

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.
