Windows 10: Bluetooth keyboard stutter when waking up

I own the Microsoft Surface Keyboard (the bluetooth one without the cable option) and it will go into sleep mode after 2 ish minutes. However, each time I wake it up by pressing any button, Windows will stutter for 1 second and then everything is fine.

I have tried to prevent the keyboard from sleeping by going into device manager and changing bluetooth power management and also various device functions under "Hardware" in the keyboard settings (By going to Settings --> Devices and Printers --> Selecting the keyboard --> Hardware --> Go into every device function --> Properties and power management settings if it's available).

However, the keyboard will still go to sleep after 2 minutes and I will experience this stutter. If I open device manager and wait for the keyboard to be inactive, it will disappear from device manager (HID Keyboard under "Keyboards" and HID-something under "Human Interface Devices")

Here is a demonstration. As you can see from the video, some of the "devices" disappears from Device Manager, which is when the keyboard goes to sleep. And when I hit a button on the keyboard it wakes and you can see the stutter.

Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard not waking PC up

I understand that Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard doesn’t wake the computer from sleep or hibernate. I’ll certainly help you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

• Are you able to wake the computer using any other keyboard?
  
• What is the complete model number of the Microsoft keyboard?
  

I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article
Troubleshoot problems waking computer from sleep mode.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems
resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.



You can also try running the power troubleshooter and check if that helps.
Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Update & Security, and select
   Troubleshoot from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll down, look for Power troubleshooter, click on it and select
   Run the troubleshooter.
   
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

How Do I Wake PC from Hybrid-Sleep with Keyboard?

Yeah I got to press the power button sadly. Is there a way to tweak the PC to get it to wake from kb or bluetooth mouse?

 

Lumia 930 Denim update - Bluetooth music stutter

Having had a battle with stuttering sound tonight here you have my conclusions using Nokia 920:

• Stuttering only occured when playing music with Bluetooth connection
• NO stuttering playing music via phone's speakers (i.e Bluetooth OFF)

• This should prove that: Music being played isn't corrupted in any way (Ripped my own cd's for testing this)
• This is MAYBE a Bluetooth only-issue (but my tests indicate other...)

To make things more complicated, here's my (short) story:

I earlier had a small BT-speaker that worked flawlessly with my Nokia 920. Never had any stuttering at all.

Then I bought a new BT-speaker...

It could be that the new patch arrived (and got installed) before I bought the new speaker, and that's the reason why the stuttering is appearing.

But now I'm getting the stuttering but I have ruled out some more conditions for when the stutterings occurs. Some of them seems to contradict others in this post - but this is what's happening to me!

This is what's happening with Bluetooth connected and wifi turned off :

• Streaming audio from my NAS to the phone = No stuttering at all
• Streaming audio from Swedish public radio(I.E. random website) = No stuttering at all

So my conclusion is that BT COULD be working as intended (at least for me) but I get the stuttering ONLY when I play stuff stored on the phone
