Windows 10: Bluetooth mouse does not work on startup but always works after restart

Microsoft bluetooth mouse will never work on startup, although it shows as connected and working properly. After restart the mouse will work properly until the computer is shut down. The mouse continues to work properly after the computer has been on sleep. I have ensured latest drivers are loaded and have even restored Windows but the same behaviour continues. What does restart do that makes the mouse work properly that just startup does not?

Bluetooth mouse not working

If you are talking about the W7/10 dual boot? It shouldn't have any issues with the driver being installed for both systems as they run independently. Bluetooth is still just a connection medium like USB, it just happens to be wireless. This means a device connecting via Bluetooth will still need to have W10 drivers to connect and work. My suggestion would be to consider how much time and energy you are putting into getting the mouse working versus buying a new mouse that is W10 compatible.

My mouse stopped working while using my computer. (Yes, I changed the battery just in case.) In the process of troubleshooting and several failed attempts to restore use of my mouse, I noticed a few noteworthy things:
1) Bluetooth is now missing from the hidden icons in the task tray.
2) Bluetooth is now missing from Device Manager.
3) In settings>devices my mouse appears and indicates turned off when in fact it is turned on.
4) In settings>devices removing the device does not work.
5) In Logitech's options my device is not found -- even when attempting to pair it.

I have restarted bluetooth services in services.msc and changed it from manual to automatic startup. I have run Windows troubleshooter.

What advice can you offer?

 

Arc Bluetooth mouse not working properly with Surface 3

Experienced same issue, disconnecting Arc Mouse then reconnect worked fine, but not mouse interaction.

Below steps worked for me:

• Remove all Bluetooth connected devices, including Surface Type Cover and Surface Pen.
• Disconnected the Surface Type Cover then reconnect. It will reinstall tand connect the device.
• Then Add Bluetooth devices including Surface Pen and last but not least Arc Bluetooth Mouse.

Everything works fine again.
