Windows 10: Bluetooth mouse enters sleep mode if kept idle for 5 sconds

I am currently using Windows 10 on my MSI laptop and recently purchased a Bluetooth mouse that connects directly to the laptop’s Bluetooth functionality, without the use of a dongle. However, I am experiencing a persistent issue where the mouse enters sleep mode or disconnects after approximately five seconds of inactivity. The mouse reconnects only upon interaction, which can take a few seconds and is quite frustrating.Prior to reaching out, I conducted extensive research to resolve this issue independently. Entering Away Mode instead of Sleep as a result of system idle?

What I ended up doing is that...

1. I set the system's sleep & hibernation timer to "Never" as you suggested and...
   
2. I created a .bat file, which sends the system into sleep after a certain idle period. Due to my Away Mode Policy, the computer does not go to normal Sleep, but instead goes into Away Mode instead, because the .bat file is considered as "User intiated action"
   
3. I then scheduled the .bat file to be run after a certain time period of idle with Task Scheduler

Bluetooth still on while idle

Thanks for following the steps. Now, the settings won't take effect if you are only using normal PC idle mode. Normal functionality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings are to stay connected even if PC is idle. With the settings that you have created, we would
suggest that you set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or
Hibernate once idle. In this way, the settings "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should take effect.

To set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or Hibernate when idle, please follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel, set view by: Small
  icons.
• Look for Power Options.
• Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left pane.
• Set a timer.

Entering Away Mode instead of Sleep as a result of system idle?

Hi all,

I'm trying to configure my living room PC so that it would function as a WiFi hotspot continuously. I was unable to keep my WiFi, VPN and Mobile Hotspot on while in Sleep (S3) mode, but I noticed that while in Away Mode my computer functions just as I expected - it keeps sharing WiFi and wakes from the sleep fast.

I've successfully enabled Allow Away Mode Policy, and modified the PC so that each time a user tries to enter a sleep state the computer will go to Away Mode instead. However, if the system goes to a sleep state as a result of system idle, the PC won't enter Away Mode, but instead goes to a regular low power Sleep state.

Is there anyway that I could modify the outcome of system idle so that the computer would enter Away Mode instead of normal Sleep mode? Alternatively, would it be possible to schedule a custom task that would force the PC to enter Away Mode?
