Windows 10: Bluetooth mouse Paired but not working - Windows 10 automatically installs mouse even if...

I'm using a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse, on a Dell XPS running Windows 10. My mouse has been fine for the last few months, but recently there has been some issues with pairing.


Under Bluetooth, it says that the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse is paired. However, moving the mouse does not move the cursor. Hence I removed the device, and tried to re-pair. The mouse does not appear among the pair-able devices.


Hence I switched off the bluetooth, and switched it back on, and weirdly the mouse pairs and installs by itself, but the mouse still doesn't work. I remove the device again, and switch off my mouse and bluetooth. When I switch on the bluetooth it pairs and installs by itself again, even though the mouse isn't even turned on!


It seems like there is an issue with the Windows 10 on my end, as my mouse works fine with other PCs running windows 10.


I saw some recommendations to clean the registry, but I'm worried I brick my windows installation. Can someone help please?

Bluetooth Designer Mouse Troubleshooting

I'm running WIndows 10 on a Lenovo E560 and my Microsoft Bluetooth Designer Mouse has stopped working. Some weird symptoms:

• In pairing mode, the device will appear in the Bluetooth Connection Manager, pair and connect. The mouse correctly finishes pairing mode when paired.
• However, although it appears as connected, it doesn't work.
• If the mouse is turned off, it still shows as connected in the Bluetooth Connection Manager.
• If the bluetooth in the PC is turned off, then on again, it appears as "Paired".
• If the mouse is then turned back on, it doesn't connect again.
• Other Bluetooth devices pair and connect correctly.

Any suggestions? Or is the mouse knackered?

here is the steps to solve it:

1. remove the device from the Bluetooth connected devices

3. install the download application

4. pair your microsoft mouse

5. the application will detect the mouse

6. its working now

 

Bluetooth mouse paired but will not connected any more


Hi there,

My Bluetooth mouse "Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse" is paired to my PC but will not connect any more. The only mean I found to get it back to work is to go in the Windows menu: Settings > Devices > Bluetooth, to delete "Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse" device, to push the bluetooth pairing button on the mouse and to request new pairing on PC side. Then it is paired and connected, it works for a while, and then again connection is definitely lost and I need to redo all the stuff above.

Drivers (mouse and bluetooth radio) are up-to-date as said by Windows itself.

Anyone had this kind of problem? Any idea on how to solve it?
I think it is linked to my update from WIN 7 to WIN 10.
