Windows 10: Bluetooth Mouse Problems

Hi,


I recently bought a Microsoft Surface Mouse for my laptop, and I'm having two seemingly separate problems with it:


1 Sometimes and apparently random it stops working. It's still connected as indicated both by windows and by the mouses led, but there's no movement or input by the buttons. This happens sometimes once every hour and sometimes every 2-3 minutes.


2 When the computer need to download a lot of stuff, the pointer starts freezing and jumping around the screen until it stops and the same situation as point 1 occurs. I tested this by moving around the mouse without anything happening and the opening google maps satellite view and until the loading is complete the mouse always has that issue.

Method 1:

Check if the Bluetooth mouse and its Bluetooth adapter are working properly.

• Try installing fresh new batteries.
• Try to unplug the Bluetooth adapter of your mouse and plug it back in.
• Try connecting the Bluetooth adapter of your mouse to a different USB port.
• Try to remove objects that can interfere with the signal of your Bluetooth adapter and mouse.

Method 2:

Check if you have installed all the updates on your computer. There are chances that you might get Bluetooth drivers through update:

• Go to the Start screen.
• Type Windows update and click on it from the list of results.
• Click on Check for updates on the left pane in the new window.

We also suggest that you try to contact the manufacturer of the Bluetooth mouse for other options.

I did try that, no difference.

You mean on the computer? It's built in.

• Try connecting the Bluetooth adapter of your mouse to a different USB port.

The only thing in the 1.5' between the mouse and the laptop is a chair arm and the computer power cord.

• Go to the Start screen.
• Type Windows update and click on it from the list of results.

Windows is up to date.

I thought I just did. It's a Microsoft mouse.

 

Bluetooth dongle problem!

My problem was (got a new laptop w/ built in bluetooth) that the actual bluetooth did not connect with the PC. I didn't have audio playback problems because the bluetooth wasn't even connected to the PC. Someone on another forum said that he had a similar problem and it was due to the wireless mouse drivers he used. I also used a wireless mouse with a little receiver dongle.
