Windows 10: Bluetooth pairing wizard crashes when pairing new device after W11 23H2 January 2024 CU was...

Since the January 2024 Windows 11 23H2 Update Build Number: 22631.3007 I'm no longer able to pair new Bluetooth devices. Clicking on plus symbol in Settings/Bluetooth & devices section, the "Wizard" to add a new device crashes as soon as I click on the first option.At the same time an event is logged in the application event log:Faulting application name: ShellExperienceHost.exe, version: 10.0.22621.2792, time stamp: 0x718fb6f1Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.22621.2506, time stamp: 0x097c794cException code: 0xc0000409Fault offset: 0x000000000007f61eFaulting process id:

Bluetooth Devices will not Pair


Hi,

Hopefully this is the correct Forum !

I have a Microsoft Mouse 5000 and Wedge keyboard (the early one that does not fold).
Both have been working perfectly.

Recently I paired them both successfully with a new Samsung tablet, but when I came to use them again on my laptop,
I found that I could not pair either of them.

I have spent countless hours researching this without success.

Here's where I am now:

Settings > Bluetooth & other devices does not list either of them.
Device Manager > Bluetooth has both of them showing and reports both working properly.

Device Manager reports as follows:

Notebook Mouse 5000:
No driver files are required or have been loaded
The Events tab says that further installation is required

Wedge Mobile Keyboard:
No driver files are required or have been loaded
The Events tab says that further installation is required

The 2 Service Discovery Service entries also report that further installation is required.

Can anyone suggest the way forward, please ?

Bluetooth won't pair with specific device


Windows 10 Bluetooth can not find/pair with my Tivoli Audio "PAL BT" (bluetooth)radio. Pairing is successful with my BT headphones, and a SONY speaker,
I can easily pair the PAL with my iPhone, so it is putting out a BT pairing signal! I use a Plugable BT400 dongle for Bluetooth send/receive.
Why does this one device not pair?

 

Change the name of paired Bluetooth devices

You can change the name of your paired Bluetooth devices on Device Manager. To assist you with your concern, kindly follow the steps below:

• Type in Control Panel on the Cortana Search
  field.
• Click on Hardware & Sound.
• Select Devices & Printers.
• On the new window, right-click on the paired device and select Properties.
• Click on the Bluetooth tab and edit the name of your paired device.
