Windows 10: Bluetooth quality poor

Hiya...have windows 10 and my bluetooth quality is very broken. I see the driver is old, see attachment. I have tried updating driver through device manager but tells me the driver is up to date. Is there a way I can update this? TIA

Bluetooth Headset Forced to Telephone Quality

It's about turning of the 'telephone' service. And not using "Bluetooth Headset" but "BlueTooth headphones" instead!

Nokia E5-00 Bluetooth Problem after FW update 101.3

After updating my nokia e5-00 with firmware 101.3, I noticed that the quality of the sound played on my bluetooth headset had become poor. Sounds became laggy and of low quality.

I hope that this can be fixed.

 

Can you open the Details tab and copy and paste the Hardware IDs values into a follow-up post? This will let us look for newer drivers/potential driver updates for you to try. Thanks and HTH,

OK, by Googling the first identifier I was able to determine it's a Broadcom BCM2070 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Device. Here's a corresponding driver from Lenovo (it's dated 2012, and reads "Windows 8.1" inside the installer, but it says it's Windows 10 compatible): Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit), 8 (64-bit) - Notebook - Lenovo Support.

It's installer based, but you can tell it to quit after it unpacks its contents into a folder of your choosing. After you do that, you'll find it includes two subfolders -- namely Win32 and Win64. You can go into DevMgr, right click on the bluetooth (or unknown) device whose driver you want to update, select Update driver software, Browse my computer for driver software, then navigate to the Win32 or Win64 folder just mentioned, and click Next. The built-in driver installer should do the rest.
