Windows 10: Bluetooth Signal Stutter on Windows 10

I'm on a Dell G5 SE laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 processor running Windows 10. Last night all audio over my Bluetooth headphones Sony WHCH700N began stuttering horribly. In the past I would sometimes have the issue if the laptop went to sleep with large apps like Adobe Illustrator still running actually, sometimes this would result in Bluetooth disappearing entirely, but a quick restart always fixed the issue.The restart did not fix the issue.I tried unpairing that set of headphones and paired my JBL Endurance Peak 3 Bluetooth earbuds, but I was still having the audio stuttering issue. I tur

The most common cause of Bluetooth audio stuttering is a bad signal. This can happen due to various reasons. The audio device (headphones, earphones, or speaker) may be too far away from the source, the signal is too weak, or the receiver’s battery level is low and so it cannot receive the Bluetooth signal properly.

If you are experiencing Bluetooth audio stuttering issues with your headsets on Windows 11, here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

1. Update Bluetooth Drivers: Even if you didn't find any driver updates through the regular update process, you can manually check the manufacturer's website for your laptop model to download and install the latest Bluetooth drivers.
   
2. Disable Exclusive Mode: Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings > Playback > Properties > Advanced tab and uncheck the boxes under "Exclusive Mode" to allow applications to take exclusive control of the device.
   
3. Reset Bluetooth Cache:
   
   • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
     
     
   • This will reset the Bluetooth service and clear the cache. Restart your laptop afterward.
     

Apart from that, you can also consider the impact of signal interference, signal strength aspects on Bluetooth quality, and you can even consider buying a new Bluetooth transceiver (which is not expensive as far as I know).

If none of these steps resolve the Bluetooth audio stuttering issue, it's possible that there may be a compatibility issue or hardware problem. In such cases, reaching out to the manufacturer's support team for further assistance might be necessary to diagnose and fix the issue.

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision
