  1. Bluetooth speaker functionality gets progressively worse with each update

    Hi!

I am using a JBL GO 2 (bluetooth speaker) on my Dell 7520. At first it worked fine but since summer, using it with windows 10 turned into a nightmare. Here is my storyline:

Bought bt speaker, paired with W10, works fine.

    An update later..
When computer wakes up from sleep it recognizes the bt speaker but no sound is given. Turning on and off the bt speaker solves the issue.

    An update later..
When computer wakes up from sleep, bt speaker does not pair automatically. I have to seperate the connection and reconnect them.

    An update later..
Waking up reconnection issue persists. In rare cases the sound is suddenly gone during watching netfilx/using audio player/playing a game. It looks connected and the sound level bars show that audio is playing on the device, but still nothing comes out. Turning on and off the device fixes the issue for a while then it happens again.

    An update later..
Waking up reconnection issue persists. Disappearing sound issue is gone. Sleep issue persists. Now I can't adjust volume from the slidebar, neither from settings. Volume is only adjustable with the physical buttons on the device. After reconnecting, there is 20 second to 40 second delay until windows actually recongizes the device and lists it on the playback devices list. If audio is played in this wait period, device is not recognized and it must be turned on and off again and have to wait for another 20 to 40 seconds.

    An update later..
Sleep issue persists. Volume adjustment issue persist. Sound is consistently gone when a certain in-game sound plays in one of my games I play and I have to switch to headphones because the issue won't go away until the game is closed. When speaker is turned off (for example battery saver turns it off when I go for a sandwich), windows no longer recognizes the device after turning it back on IF there is audio playing. I have to stop audio playback (a game, youtube, audio player, anything that gives sound) turn the speaker off and on again. If there is no audio playing in the moment the speaker reconnects, everything is fine afterwards except for the waiting period. Sometimes after reconnection, the device is silent. I have to set the default playback device as the built-in laptop speaker and then as the bluetooth speaker to regain sound. Sometimes it doesn't work, so reconnection is the option.

My bluetooth speaker works perfectly with everything else: multiple android phones, linux machines, even some other windows 10 computers (altough there are minor issues, like changing volume or sleep thing). Multiple bluetooth devices (two xbox one controllers, android phones) work perfectly with my laptop. I have no clue where is the issue. No solution has worked so far.

Can you give me any suggestions?

I AM ABSOLUTELY SICK OF THIS AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY ABHORE THIS SITUATION.

Edit: I fear what the next update brings.
    Edit2: formatting

    Cheers, Lowdryer

  3. Windows 10 computer paired w/ bluetooth speaker, but doesn't send music to speaker

A possible solution to Bluetooth speaker playback issueBluetooth speaker functionality gets progressively worse with each update :) I tried all the steps listed in several posting forums with no success. I finally found a solution after 3 hours of investigating. 1st several forums suggest updating drivers... but do not specify which drivers to update i.e. the Bluetooth device? (eg. bose audio, sony driver for sony Bluetooth headphones etc.), or the windows driver?

*** For me the solution was updating the Bluetooth driver from LENOVO's website (the laptop/computer manufacture's website) once the driver was installed the bluetooth playback through BOSE Bluetooth audio adaptor worked perfectly.

I understand not everyone will have a LENOVO laptop/computer however I think it is worth downloading the latest Bluetooth driver from the device you are streaming from.

    Hope this helps!

    Bluetooth speaker not playing

    Hello Tanya,

Your Bluetooth speaker might be paired with your PC but not connected. You can try the following steps to manually connect it:

    • Make sure your Bluetooth speaker is turned on.
    • On the far right of the Windows taskbar, press and hold (right-click)
      Volume
, and then select Playback devices.
    • On the Playback tab, select the Bluetooth speaker, press and hold (or right-click) it, and then select
      Connect.
    • Select your Bluetooth speaker, and then select Set default. Music should play on your Bluetooth speaker now.

Let us know if performing the steps makes any difference.
