Windows 10: Bluetooth speaker paired but usually won't connect but worked when enabling Wireless...

I had long given up on using a Bluetooth speaker presuming my Laptop had a hardware issue. Recently I came across some now unknown list which include what I think was called Wireless Devices with two boxes unticked. I ticked both, the speaker worked. Next day wouldn't Boot and required a complete re-set of Windows maybe no connection. Running Troubleshooter etc. has no effect and there seems to be a myriad of settings req'd for Bluetooth to work. Under "Services" Bluetooth support was an error msg. and again multiple options such as Auto. or manual. Is uninstalling likely to be of any use or is the issue likely to be somewhere in the vast collection of permutations/combinations which have to line up?

If you have connected/paired the wireless speakers with the other devices including your Metro cell phone, I suggest you to unpair the speaker with the particular device and try to pair with Windows 10 or other devices in order to use the wireless
speakers.

Please be informed that when the wireless speakers are connected to other devices, you may not be able to pair the speakers with the other devices. To pair the speaker, you need to unpair the wireless speakers with connected devices and try to
pair with other devices.

Can't select paired bluetooth speaker as sound output (Windows 10)

I just got a new bluetooth speaker, an Urbanears Stammen (concrete grey)

I can connect to it from my phone, using Bluetooth, and play back sound no problem. But I can't get my Windows 10 laptop (Dell XPS 15) to use it as a playback device.

I can connect and pair to it no problem, as you see in the screenshot below





It also shows up under bluetooth in the device manager. It's not listed under "Audio inputs and outputs", which I thought it should be, but I can see it under "Sound, video and game controllers".





But I can't select it as a playback device

And I tried the suggested steps listed there, but nothing helped

Any further ideas I could try?

 

bluetooth "ready to pair" does not connect device

My wireless Philips speaker is recognized in the bluetooth listing and worked fine for months but, for some reason it had a bad connection so, when I try to click on "Pair" in the bluetooth settings, it won't connect. I've rebooted the pc multiple times,
it sees the speaker but, won't pair. Is there any troubleshooting methods to connect the devices?
