Windows 10: Bluetooth Speaker Turns On Every Time I Wake Up Machine

Hello!I have a Sony Bluetooth speaker paired with my computer. The issue is that I don't use it all the time and would rather have it not turn on by itself. I don't have the speaker selected as my audio output device when I close down the computer, so it's not the last used output device.I'd rather not unpair the speaker every time since that would be a hassle. I can't simply turn off Bluetooth because I'm using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.I'm trying to be energy conscious and would rather not have something turn on for no reason.Thanks for reading.CCA

Bluetooth speaker not playing

Your Bluetooth speaker might be paired with your PC but not connected. You can try the following steps to manually connect it:

• Make sure your Bluetooth speaker is turned on.
• On the far right of the Windows taskbar, press and hold (right-click)
  Volume, and then select Playback devices.
• On the Playback tab, select the Bluetooth speaker, press and hold (or right-click) it, and then select
  Connect.
• Select your Bluetooth speaker, and then select Set default. Music should play on your Bluetooth speaker now.

Turning on Bluetooth Device Turns on PC


I have a Bluetooth speaker that I use on several of my devices. On my PC, if I leave the device connected when shutting off either it or the PC, when I turn on the speaker, the PC will turn on too. I have to disconnect the speaker every time I'm done using it, but I don't always remember to do this, and it shouldn't even happen anyways.

Allow this device to wake the computer is disabled and off. Fast startup is disabled in Power Options and the BIOS. Wake-on-LAN is disabled on the Ethernet device but not the BIOS. The motherboard doesn't have Bluetooth so it's just a tiny USB Bluetooth chip that doesn't have any exceptional software which doesn't have any power management options.

Are their any other settings or tools I can use to stop this from happening? Thanks!
