Bluetooth speakers keep disconnecting with certain programs on Windows 10

    Hello,

I've tried finding if anyone has had this same issue, but no luck so far.

The gist of it is that my computer is connected to some Bluetooth speakers and, for the most part, they work flawlessly. Youtube, Netflix, etc. Locally stored movies (played using Plex and PotPlayer) are great. However, when I start playing locally stored music using either Windows Media Player or Groove Music, the speakers start regularly disconnecting. Literally every 1-3 songs, the music will just stop and I'll need to manually reconnect the speakers using the "Sounds" menu.

I tried updating drives for both the speakers and the Bluetooth receiver. I tried restarting both the computer and the speakers. I tried going into those Power Management settings for the receiver and unchecking "let Windows 10 turn this device off." So far, nothing has helped. Clearly, this problem seems to be localized to just these specific programs, but I have no idea how to fix it.

Thanks in advance for all your help and advice!

    :)

    Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision
