Windows 10: Bluetooth stopped working after installing Win10 feature update 2004

I've been researching and troubleshooting this all night. I've done all of the suggestions from this site and others. The status is this:

1. Bluetooth is showing up and in my device manager and shows to be working properly





2. I've uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the bluetooth device drivers. I've installed the Intel Driver and Support Assistant and it shows to be up to date.





3. I've checked that all the bluetooth services are running and set to start automatically.





4. I'm running the latest feature update from Windows Update and no updates are outstanding.





5. But there is no bluetooth button to "turn on" bluetooth:





6. The Bluetooth Troubleshooter doesn't show any issues:





So, I'm out of ideas and suggestions. I've got several bluetooth devices that I can't use. It renders my PC virtually useless.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

How to stop download and installation of Feature Update Win10 2004

I have two computers running Win10/Pro, and neither can tolerate the Feature Update 2004. I have tried using the woshowhide.diagcab utility to hide this update, on both machines and on two occasions now, but the update shows up on the 'to download' list
and does indeed download and install despite its instruction to the contrary. This means that to get any update (except Windows Security updates) I have to allow it to install, and then manually roll-back to previous version Windows 1909. Please, how can
I deal with this?

Not that this is the place to discuss it, but my problem with 2004 is that the All Apps (alphabetic) list of programs cannot be accessed as it is hidden behind a 'Top apps' window that will not close or move.

A solution to either problem would be most welcome.

 

Disable installation of Feature Update 2004

About 2 weeks ago, version 2004 showed up on the Updates list and automatically installed. Upon completion of the install, the computer was completely unusable: no application would load; those that started would hang and eventually (5 minutes) fail. To
attempt to remove the update, I had to force a power off (mirrored drives really don't like that!) and then was finally able to use to Recovery under Updates to remove about 95% of the update. After the require restart and while checking what was or was not
working, Updates (of course) reinstalled 2004. Repeat: Recovery and Remove 95% (95% of 95% = 90% Usable). Attempting to use MS questions area, the only suggestion was to Disable the Updates Service which, of course, means no further security or usability
patches.

All of that overly long explanation is by way of saying: I have attempted the only other option given here for removing 2004. At the moment, the Update Service is Disabled (PS: if you leave it at Manual, it will eventually start up and 2004 will commence
its installation). So, the question: is there ANY way to disable the attempt by Update Service to install version 2004? I don't mean "install and wait for a couple of patches", I mean permanent tell Windows to NOT attempt to install 2004? My computer works
just fine without the feature updates and does not work AT ALL *with* the updates. Prior versions and other patches allow for the update to be Hidden and ignored; Feature Update 2004 will install if the service is running and there appears to be no way to
abort/hide/ignore the update.

Any suggestions??

 

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 and Bluetooth

Hi,

Help!! just installed the Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 and the bluetooth on my laptop has stopped working - under devices in settings it says bluetooth is switched off and there is no way to turn it back on.

Before anyone asks, bluetooth is inbuilt in my laptop and I am
not using an external bluetooth device connected through a usb or similar.

This happened earlier as well when windows update installed KB4535996 update and KB4537572 update. The solution at that time was to uninstall those updates and bluetooth worked fine.

Maybe I need to uninstall this update too for bluetooth to work again.
