Windows 10: Bluetooth tethering only allows me to connect using direct connection and not access point

Hello, I was trying to have my laptop connect to the internet by sharing my phone's Wi-Fi connection since my laptop can't detect the Wi-Fi because it is out of range. I was able to successfully use bluetooth tethering to connect to the internet for the first try. Someone else used my laptop and after returning it to me, my laptop wouldn't allow my phone to connect using access point.

I have tried restarting my laptop and phone, unpairing the devices and pairing them again, reinstalling the Bluetooth driver, and nothing is working.

How do I connect to internet via bluetooth tethering?


I need to connect my laptop to the internet using my android phone. I've paired both devices and I've enabled bluetooth tethering on my phone. My phone is listed when I navigate from 'join a personal network' in bluetooth options in taskbar but I cannot connect using access point, only direct connection is listed as the option.

 

Bluetooth Tethering not working


Trying to tether my Windows 10 1151 to my Android 5.1.1 device over Bluetooth. I swear it used to work before 10...

Tethering enabled on Android. Devices paired successfully.

On Windows - Clicking Taskbar - Bluetooth - Join a PAN - Click Device - Connect using... only shows direct connection... What happened to Bluetooth?

What's the trick?

 

Bluetooth access point option changes to direct conection after system reboot.

Hi,

Every time I pair my Bluetooth device(my Phone Android 6.0 Xiaomi Redmi 3s prime) to connect to it for bluetooth tethering I get an option to connect to internet using "access point". This options stays available only till the next reboot. After a reboot
the "access point" option is gone and there is "Direct conection" available instead. I have to go through the process of un-pair and pair every time to get "access point" back. Is there a solution for this problem.
