Windows 10: Bluetooth toggle missing from settings, missing from quick actions and from the icon tray...

The scenario: I was happily using the bluetooth on my Asus 420U VivoBook and then suddenly the bluetooth went missing. But technically not suddenly, I had updated my laptop with the windows update provided on the 13th of April, 2020. I'm not sure when it happened, but when I turned on my computer and proceeded to use my bluetooth headphones, I just couldn't do it because of the reasons I outlined in the title of this post.

I tried all the possible fixes:

1. went into the device manager to reinstall the driver. But the bluetooth driver wasn't there.
2. restarted my computer hoping that during the boot process, something would throw an error and the driver would be found and installed
3. checking to see if there were any updates missing, so I installed those and restarted my computer.
4. I even dual booted Ubuntu along side my windows installation, but even in that OS, I had bluetooth trouble, Ubuntu always had bluetooth trouble.
5. my last resort option was to just reinstall Windows. So I did that. But still no success.

I gave up, naturally. I am no genius and this was all that I could do. I left it alone and went to sleep. Then next morning, I turned on my laptop to do work again, knowing that I wouldn't be able to use my bluetooth. But I just took a peek, with the hope that was left inside me, and it was there. My glorious bluetooth button was there. I have yet to test it to see if it works, but it returned. By the way, in my last efforts, I found an intel bluetooth driver and had installed it the night before right after I did my fresh install. I even reset my UEFI bios.


So, in short, I don't know what worked. Maybe the Gods from laptop land decided to bestow upon me the gift of bluetooth once more.

• Is the Bluetooth icon missing in the Action Center?
• Is your Bluetooth device currently inserted?
• Can we have a screenshot of the interface where your Bluetooth went missing?

• Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To know, press
  Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winver
  and press Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
• What were the recent changes made on your computer before you experienced this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Did you receive any error messages?

Hi Pam,

You can put the icon you wish to include in your System Tray by following these steps:

• Right-click on the Taskbar, then choose Settings.
  
• Click the Select which icons appear on the taskbar under the
  Notification area.
  
• Toggle to ON the program you wish to appear in the System Tray.
  

Let us know what happens after following the above steps.

Bluetooth Icon is missing

Bluetooth Icon is missing on my laptop (Windows 10), and it has been about 3 weeks. Here is how it looks like on my laptop:

As you see, there is NO Bluetooth icon..

Does anyone know how to fix this?
