    Bluetooth turning off due to problem with driver


    Hi,The Bluetooth on my surface pro has been randomly turning off for a few days now. Restarting the device seemingly fixed the issue but it would turn off again after a few hours so I looked at help for similar situations I investigated the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager, it is up to date but there is an error so 'Windows has stopped it.' How can I resolve this?

    Bluetooth is not working — troubleshoot claims I don't even have it

    I have done all the following steps:

    - installed bluetooth driver from manufacturer
    - hit windows update
    - updated / uninstalled bluetooth items listed in Device Manager and restarted the PC
    - updated / uninstalled USB drivers listed in Device Manager and restarted the PC (USB drivers automatically came back but not bluetooth)
    - turned on and restarted all bluetooth support in services.msc
    - conducted bluetooth troubleshooting
    - conducted hardware troubleshooting

    • When did the issue start? Have you made any significant changes to your computer before the issue started?
    • What are the exact troubleshooting steps that you've taken so far? This is for us to avoid providing the same steps.
    • Have you tried connecting your external Bluetooth module to a different computer?
    • Have you tried updating your Bluetooth driver? If not, kindly do so by following the steps in this article:

      Update drivers in Windows 10      .
    • What is the make and model of your external Bluetooth module?
    • What is the make and model of your computer?

    Bluetooth turning off due to problem with driver

    Bluetooth dongle problem!

    My problem was (got a new laptop w/ built in bluetooth) that the actual bluetooth did not connect with the PC. I didn't have audio playback problems because the bluetooth wasn't even connected to the PC. Someone on another forum said that he had a similar problem and it was due to the wireless mouse drivers he used. I also used a wireless mouse with a little receiver dongle.
