Windows 10: Bluetooth usb adapter does not scan devices!

Hello Mi.So.Users, Microsoft UsersI use Windows 10 Pro vrsn-2004 on my Pc. Recently I baught a bluetooth usb adapter and fitted it on the usb 3.0 of my backpanel. Problem is that Pc detects the adapter but can't detect the BT devices nearby when I click the add new device in the settings for bluetooth devices. I have even changed the adapter once and checked for windows updates, but... it shows up no updates so, the problem is still the same. I would be really thankful for your help if anyone can. Promate Bluetooth™ 4.0 USB Adapter !

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?

Bluetooth USB Adapter Not Recognizing Devices

Hi Nate,

The issue you're experiencing might be due to a variety of reasons. It can be a driver issue or corrupted system files.

That being said, please provide the answers to the following for us to be able to learn more about your concern:

• Is your Windows 10 updated?
  
• Have you tried reinstalling your Bluetooth driver?
  
• When did the issue start? What were the changes made before the issue started?
  
• Did your Bluetooth USB adapter recognize the same devices before?

If you haven't tried reinstalling your Bluetooth driver, here's how:

• Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
  
• Right-click the driver under Bluetooth, then select
  Uninstall.
  
• Restart your laptop to automatically reinstall the drivers. Make sure that you update the driver after re-installation.

In the meantime, you can run the Hardware and Devices, and the Network Adapter Troubleshooters to find and repair problems with your devices, hardware, wireless, and other network adapters.

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
  
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
  
• Locate then select Troubleshooting.
  
• Click View all from the left pane.
  
• Locate and click Hardware and Devices/Network Adapter to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.
  

To make sure that you're not experiencing an account specific issue, kindly
create another administrator account and observe if the
issue will still be present.

Bluetooth USB Adapter Not Recognizing Devices

I'm trying to connect bluetooth audio devices to my computer (Windows 10 updated on 07/22/17) via a Satechi Bluetooth USB adapter. When I try to add a device(I've tried a Leophile Eel, the Sony SRS-XB10 speaker, and my iPhone) to the computer via bluetooth,
the only device that appears is "unknown device." All of the drivers are up to date. The hardware listed under the bluetooth devices are Broadcom BCM20702 Bluetooth USB 4.0 Device, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator, and Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator.
