This happens often, but not always. Why does it happen? And how can I make my USB Bluetooth adapter to always be detected by windows when plugged in?My device is a brand new TP-Link UB500 5.0 Bluetooth Dongle Receiver, but I don't think it affects this device only, but I'm rather leaning towards a Windows/USB setting being the culprit. Thanks in advance.

    Bluetooth USB adapter recommendation

Thanks Denis for your input...I remembered I had another Bluetooth USB Adapter so I tried that. That adapter worked perfectly with the controller. I put the original adapter back in. It worked a lot better than yesterday but not as good as the other Bluetooth USB Adapter. I then saw your post.

The computer is almost 5 years old now. I try to check the Device Manager every month or two. I can't even remember the last time I saw a problem there. However, you were right. There was a error there. The error was something like "USB Device not recognized". I found the solution was to first figure out what was causing the error. I then remembered I had bought a new Logitech C920s Pro webcam a couple months ago. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. The error in the Device Manager was now gone.

I am still not 100% sure if the problem is completely fixed. I will have to watch things for a few more weeks to make sure.

    Bluetooth mouse still freezes

    Hello,

There are multiple possibilities why a Bluetooth mouse could act up. To assist you with your concern, you can try these following steps:

    Method 1:

Check if the Bluetooth mouse and its Bluetooth adapter are working properly.

    • Try installing fresh new batteries.
    • Try to unplug the Bluetooth adapter of your mouse and plug it back in.
    • Try connecting the Bluetooth adapter of your mouse to a different USB port.
    • Try to remove objects that can interfere with the signal of your Bluetooth adapter and mouse.

    Method 2:

Check if you have installed all the updates on your computer. There are chances that you might get Bluetooth drivers through update:

    • Go to the Start screen.
    • Type Windows update and click on it from the list of results.
    • Click on Check for updates on the left pane in the new window.

We also suggest that you try to contact the manufacturer of the Bluetooth mouse for other options.

We will wait for your response.

    Regards.

Bluetooth USB adapter not detected on Windows start, only if I unplug it and plug it back in.

    Bluetooth USB adapter recommendation

I have the following Nano Bluetooth USB Adapter

    TP-Link UB400 Nano Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter
    Amazon.com

It worked fine plugged into the back of my desktop computer for over a year but now my Xbox One controller is unusable with it. I tried different rear USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports but that made no difference. I finally had to plug the adapter into a front USB port for the controller to work. Note I really don't want to tie up a front USB port because there are plenty of free USB ports in the rear.

Is it possible this Bluetooth USB Adapter is defective or should I replace it with another? If a replacement should I get another nano adapter or should I get one with an external antenna?

I have read that the following are supposed to be good. Has anyone had any experience with them or can recommend something better?

ASUS USB-BT400 Nano Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter
    Amazon.com

ASUS USB-BT500 Nano Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter
