Windows 10: Bluetooth wireless display screen settings

W10 laptop is using a Surface Go 2 W11 as a wireless display extension of my main screen. The problem is I can’t maximize/optimize the screen on the Surface. Most of the screen are black bars at the top and bottom of screen. Landscape or portrait doesn’t matter. Resolution also does not change this much. What can be done to fix?

You can try to follow the steps below in adding your wireless display.

Set up & use Miracast on Windows 10:

Step 1: If your TV comes with built-in Miracast support, then turn it On. Else connect the external adapter into the HDMI port of your television and power it on.

Step 2: Now on your Windows PC, navigate to Start -> Settings -> Bluetooth & other devices -> Add bluetooth or other device > Select Wireless Display or Dock

Step 3: Follow the prompt on the screen on adding your wireless display.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated display adapter drivers after upgrading to Windows 10. Try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall the Wireless Display Driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Uninstall.
• Restart the computer.

Step 2: Update
Wireless Display Driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update driver software.
