Windows 10: Blurry background apps. Can't find a solution anywhere.

So I recently got a gaming computer with Windows 10. Its an Omen 15 i7-9750 with a Nvidia Geforce Ti1660 32GB ram. (My first Windows computer since Win XP)

I have a second display hooked up as well, but just recently I have noticed that apps like Slack or Visual Studio Code will become EXTREMELY blurry when in the background or when they are on the second display and they are not selected.

It even seems like sometimes its only half of the app like there is a transparent window open over top the app causing the blurry state.

I have tried messing with the Nvidia control panel to switch some graphics settings, that didn't work. I have changed the Windows 10 setting of "Fix apps that are blurry" I have tried that on and I have tried it off, didnt fix it.

I am now at a loss, i will attach some pictures so you can see what I mean.

First image: You can see this is what happens when the app is not selected. As soon as I click on the app, it is not blurry anymore. (Notice how the bar at the bottom is COMPLETELY CLEAR) https://ibb.co/sFYZ9k4

Blurry background pictures

After the recent update of Windows 10, my pictures when set as background are blurry and mis-sized.

When I use Picture Manager, the resizing deature doesn't work or produces a pictue which is not what I entered. When I try to return to the original setting, it won't change the background at all. Pictures that used to fit my background now are blurry and
mis-sized

I have turned on the fix blurry apps feature and restarted - no better

 

Blurry app fix for Windows 10 (v1709)

Hello,

I have an older version (1709) of Windows 10, which I cannot find a fix for the blurry apps on my high resolution display - Microsoft's listed solutions to this only pertain only to later versions of Windows 10. Of course, these can be fixed in the Microsoft
apps by choosing "best appearance", though sadly, this is limited to only Microsoft apps. Any suggestions?

background blurry help!!!!

No worries - thank you for clarifying this and letting me know!

I am wondering if the original image size is quite small, and this might be causing the blurriness - if the photo you are selecting is small and you are stretching it to the full size of the desktop on a high resolution display, it may appear as blurry.

If you right click on your desktop, then choose Personalize, then Desktop Background

When you set the desktop background image, at the bottom under "Choose a fit", I am guessing that it is set to Fill. Can you set this to Center, to see how large the image displays?

If it is indeed a small image, hopefully you might be able to find a larger resolution image that will make the background more clear.

If this is not the case, please do reply and we can look at offering some other suggestions to look at.
