Windows 10: Blurry text

Go to %windir%\SystemApps, you shoud see a Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_*something* folder. In there are the two Edge's executables, but they do not run the browser directly. That might be due to Edge being an App. I still don't know what Apps actually are and how they differ from normal programs.

The problem lies with DpiScalingVer and Win8DpiScaling keys in the respective section of registry. These keys used to change respecting what scale option you did choose in Windows 8.1 (Win8DpiScaling entry being "Let me choose one display scale for all stuff", it's not even present in Windows 10), but now only LogPixels entry is affected when a scaling option is selected.

So I have kind of the same problem and the fixes don't seem to work for me. My problem is that if I set my main monitor to 100% scaling and my second monitor to 125%, some programs (non-stock apps) like in chrome and spotify get blurry, but just on the second monitor. I don't know what to do, please any ideas?

 

This fixed the issue for me. I was getting frustrated with this for quite sometime.

Sorry, at first i posted as a reply for one of the messages. For everyone who is pissed off with the stupid dpi settings, this simple program fixed it for me.

I have found a solution to this problem: Right click on desktop, Display settings, Advanced Display Settings, Advanced Sizing of Text and Other items, then in the first paragraph under "Change size of items" click on the hyper-link that says "set a custom scaling level". Now choose 125% from the little window and click OK and Sign out. This method successfully upped my scaling on Win10 and everything is now big, crisp and clear. Quick way to see that there is in fact no more blurry text, is to right click "This PC" then click Manage. This was the problem area for me where things appeared blurry. I also run dual monitors with different resolutions (1920x1080 & 1366x768).

 

If you look closely at the "Manage" screen, compare the very top left, where it says "Computer Management". THAT tab is crystal clear, but the rest of the entire window is blurry. Do you notice that too? See if my screenshot shows this. (I just checked screenshot and it does show this, but not as profound as seeing live on the computer).
Windows 95 all the way to Windows 8 never had this problem. I still am confused by it.

 

Ok, very strange how this works, but it does work. I set everything back to 100% and retried my method just to see if it will work again, it didn't. (I did this using only my 1080 screen). So then I pressed Win+P and chose to only show my second display (1366x768) Now I tried my method again and it works perfectly. When I switch back to my 1080 screen the settings are kept and I have 125% Custom Scaling set with no blur.

When I am using my lower resolution screen it doesn't allow the normal slider to be moved at all, that is when I went deeper into the settings and found the custom scaling option.

This is what my settings look like, and as you can see there is no blur within "Computer Management"



I notice these uploads look a bit poor, not sure why, but there really is no blur

 

Another way to make it work, and I just tested it, is to change the resolution of your current 1080 monitor down to 1366x768, then:
* Right Click Desktop, and select Display Settings
* Scroll down and select Advanced display settings
* Scroll down and select Advanced sizing of text and other items
* Click on the hyper-link that says "set a custom scaling level"
* Set it to 125%, and click ok
* Click Apply, and sign out and back in again.
* Reapply your native resolution (1080 for me)

Now everything is big crisp and clear

 

I finished the fix , 100% working in all case : Blur text, can't disable scaling DPI in some app like: PhotoShop , Zalo , Deamweaver ... , no 3rd party tools , no startup files setup , no need to wait update by Microsoft.

Thing is, we shouldn't have to be doing all this crap to try and get sharp fonts. If we restore Windows, then we have to do this all over again. Microsoft should fix this stuff from the beginning or "up front" as we say here in the States. I'm not going to bother with all this. To be honest, either I am getting used to the blurriness, or not that many windows that come up are blurry.

 

It's not win font, it bug : blurry text and display on high resolution monitor from full HD, so it all blur in every solution setting. When change size text, text ok but in some 3rd party app such as adobe not work. Then you cant make design on a screen like that, wasting money to buy high resolution monitor ???
Then, i dont think microsoft have an update soon because they let the 3rd party do it, so how long we wait, how long my monitor wait, sry 4 my bad english

 

Anyone was able to fix this with 2 monitors with different resolution?
I've a dell 24" 1920x1200@60hz connected with DVI (monitor) to HDMI (PC) cable, and a dell 27" 3840x2160@60hz connected with miniDP (monitor) to DP (PC) cable.


My videocard is Ati Radeon R9 380 4GB on Windows 10 Pro.


If use native resolution without any kind of modification about dpi and text resolution (everything is at 100%), each monitor is perfect without blur, but on 27" 4k text, icon and programs are too much small for a daily use.

If change dpi resolution for text on my first screen (27) to 125% (will be perfect for work..), screen is perfect on 27", but i got blur on 24".
If change dpi resolution also on 24" to 125%, everything is ok, on 24" and also on 27", but text, icons and generally applications on 24 are too big for a daily use.

My catalyst drivers, Crimson 16.1.1, allow to enable some options on each monitor, like Virtual Super Resolution (only on 24") and Scaling GPU (on 24 and 27).





Tried to enable VSR on 24, and set 3840x2400, screen on 24 become blurried.. Enable Scaling GPU on 24, same..
Changin dpi for text, app and icons.. same.. ONLY IF SET DPI AT 250% (like 125% when use native resolution), EVERYTHING BACK TO BE CLEAR.. but there is the same problem: icons and applications are too big for work.
Tried to set 2560x1600 same..

I don't understand..

Tried the Windows10dpi fix.. and set resolution with this app.. but the problem still remain..

It's possible to fix this?!?!? It's possible to tell to system that i need that the second monitor (24) must to be in the same condition that i use when it's normal.. (sorry for this english..)
