    Bogus "Microsoft" Telephone calls


    We are regularly getting telephone calls from people saying they are from Microsoft and that there is a problems with our computers I know this is a con and tell them to get stuffed my sister in law was conned by them and lost £5000.I know that most people on this site will know it is a con but millions of other users do not and this is a world wide problem could not Microsoft put on their websites and communications with customers that they do not phone people saying they have problems the banks and other large organisations do it. If anyone on this site has any influence with Microsoft could they bring this problem to their attention

    Neither Microsoft nor our partners make unsolicited phone calls (also known as cold calls) to charge you for computer security or software fixes.
    So I suggest you to not respond to such calls as they may be scams.

    Telephone numbers showing as links in Microsoft Edge Browser


    When viewing my web site pages in Microsoft Edge browser, all the telephone numbers appear as links even though they are not.

    When I view pages using Firefox they look like an ordinary list of telephone numbers as they should. They also look like ordinary telephone number on my tablet

    Any idea how I can stop them looking like links when I use Microsoft Edge Browser

    Bogus "Microsoft" Telephone calls

    Bogus Microsoft telephone caller.

    A caller with the number 646-588-1663 (determined by dialing *69) claimed to be calling on behalf of Microsoft. I was asked if I was having trouble with my computer or had recently removed programs. I did not trust this caller and quickly disconnected the
    call.

    Was this a legitimate Microsoft caller?
