Bonjour must be started manually every reboot

Every time I restart Windows 10 I find that Bonjour is disabled and every time I open Services, set it to automatic then start it. Why won't it stay as "automatic" and start on reboot?

  2. Services: Windows could not start the Bonjour Service service on Local Computer - Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedely.

    Hello Greg,

I removed iTunes and Bonjour and then reinstalled the updater for my musical device. This installed a new copy of Bonjour. Then, I followed one of the links that suggested I set the Bonjour process to manual and then reboot my computer. Then I was able to run the Bonjour process with out the error message. However, the service went back to the error message after a few more times of me hitting the start process button. Unfortunately, starting the Bonjour process did not allow me to update my musical device. I now have a time scheduled for help from the company that makes the device. I hope they can fix the problem I am having.

    Thanks,

    Michael

  3. start menue

We appreciate your response and the information provided. We suggest that you follow these troubleshooting steps and see if they help:

    • Start a CMD window (Windows-X, Command Prompt)
    • Then type in C:\windows\system32\tdlrecover.exe -reregister -resetlayout -resetcache

Reboot is not required but a quick reboot may clear up any residual issues after the command is run.

Disclaimer: Corruption recovery removes any manual pins from
    Start menu
. Apps should still be visible, but you’ll need to re-pin any secondary tiles and/or pin app tiles to the main Start view.

We're looking forward to your feedback.

    bonjour

Actually removing Bonjour will hardly clear any space, it is a really small App - about 4MB

If you need to clear space:

    Open File Explorer

    Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

This time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete
