BOOOTMGR is missing - please have a look on partition configuration

    Dear community,

please have a look on following record done by „Lubuntu Boot-Repair Disk“ after trying to repair the MBR.

Until yesterday my computer ran on Win 10 on sda3 installed as an update from win7 some time ago. This morning no boot possible, instead just the blinking hyphen on black.

My attempt to repair with the Ubuntu Live disk led to the screen which now tells me „Bootmgr is missing“ or „No operating system“. I assume that I just might need to change some configuration within the different partitions, which are leftovers from the former WIN7 installation (recovery)

It might be easy for someone who knows to see how the configuration should be.

    Thanks a lot in advance,

  2. Windows apps don't work and Get-AppXPackage powershell command made a huge mess.

    Hi Gustavo,

Startup Repair option which will lead you to Automatic Repair, which may help you fix some system unstable files or replace some missing files on the system. This will also help in repairing the system files and settings associated with the apps.

During this diagnostic phase, Automatic Repair will scan your system and analyze the various settings, configuration options, and system files looking for corrupt files or botched configuration settings. More specifically, Automatic Repair will look
    for the following problems:

    • Missing/corrupt/incompatible drivers
    • Missing/corrupt system files
    • Missing/corrupt boot configuration settings
    • Corrupt registry settings
    • Corrupt disk metadata (master boot record, partition table, or boot sector)
    • Problematic update installation

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

BOOOTMGR is missing - please have a look on partition configuration

Hi, before anything else, please check your disk.

Download Kyhi's boot DVD/drive from the top of the Software and Apps section here.

Boot your PC from it, then run HDTune (one of the utilities provided) and post a screenshot of that please.
You should be able to use the Windows snipping tool, then post it using the Insert Image icon to the left of the video icon above your post.

Also please update your specs including details of your desk (see mine).
Include whether Win 10 Home or Pro
    Legacy BIOS or UEFI
And which build of Windows you think was installed- 1607 (Anniversary build) or the Creator's Build (the latest one being rolled out).

    Hi dalchina,
thank you for your response! I finally decided to save my data and make a complete reset - now running on Linux Mint. For now no more struggle with repair-and rescue partitions or disks...
Also I apologize for the horrible layout of my first post. When I inserted the log-text into the texteditor it still was well structured and I missed to check the preview.

Thanks again for the immediate help offered!

So all is working? If so, good.

(Routine disk imaging is a great way of saving yourself, your PC and your data from disaster- we recommend Macrium Reflect (free) )
