Windows 10: Boot loop and you have your BitLocker recovery key!

Ok- posting this because I could not find any other solution to my problem.


Here is my problem-

I actually have my BitLocker recovery key but my computer keeps rebooting in an endless loop and I cant really access any options because it says i need to enter my Bitlocker key.


Perfect, because i actually have my Bitlocker key, right? wrong. Wrongg. After I enter it, i got a message that says something like sorry you must be signed in as an administrator, there are no administrators on this machine. Please restart. or some garbage like that. No matter what I did, i couldn't escape this loop.


SOLUTION!

its all about the command prompt


First go thru to the advanced options and then



enter the advanced options screen:

Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt (when you get the prompt for the bitlocker key, go to the option that says "skip this drive")


now you should be on the command prompt- type

"Manage-bde -status c:" enter to make sure the drive you entered "c" is the drive the bit key is enabled for (it should say)

then type...

"Manage-bde -unlock c: -recoverypassword 520146-432949-1979586-061655-785858-031625-675469-113487" obviously put your recovery key in, not mine

this will unlock it the bitlocker key. But, now you need to stop the drive form asking for encryption password during next boot. So type...
"Manage-bde -protectors -disable c:"

Now close out of the prompt and you should be able to navigate through the advanced settings freely. I had a restore point, so i did that, but you can also boot the computer in safe mode if you dont have a restore point.


The entire command prompt is very sensitive, so if you dont enter something perfectly with dashes and spaces correct, it wont work and it will tell you it doesnt recognize or syntax.

BitLocker Recovery Keys. This should send the recovery key to the mobile phone number on file.

2. Did you ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key on your computer?
3. Are you not able to login to your Microsoft Account to find the BitLocker Recovery Key?
4. Are you using Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional?

Meanwhile, try finding BitLocker Recovery Key if you have ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key for your computer.
