Running an ASUS 701G series laptop, having a boot loop issue with a "no media drivers found" error prompt. Attempting to use media creation tools via USB 3.0 and the predecessor usb, I believe it's called 2.0?.?. I do have access to my bios and the ability to change settings, not in admin mode though, unsure how to, or what the code for CMD PROMPT is to elevate privileges. I've ran all the easily found avenues of CMD checks and automated fixes, laptop gets through to a point where it's reinstalling windows then fails at about 34% completed. The only tools I have to address this issue is an and

Installation media boots to command prompt

I've just booted from known working install media to see exactly what it does when booting. The sequence of events is...

    1. Windows logo on a black screen
    2. circling dots appear beneath the logo
    3. light blue 'Please wait' screen with circling dots
    4. a command prompt window (very briefly)
    5. the initial Setup page appears

Do you see steps 1-3? If so, it appears you have stopped at step 4, suggesting that something on the disc cannot be read.

Does the disc boot properly in another machine? If so, try cleaning the laptop's drive lens then try booting from the disc again.

If not, make new install media with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, either as a bootable USB, on an ISO that you can burn to another disc. At Step 8 in Option One of this tutorial you can choose between making a USB or an ISO.

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

    Boot loop

    Hi Terri,

This issue occurs when there are broken components on the boot configuration data of your system. To troubleshoot your boot loop issue, we suggest that you boot in
    safe mode through the Windows
    Recovery
Environment option. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Turn on your computer. When the Windows logo appears, unplug and replug the device. Perform these steps three times.
    • On the fourth instance, turn on your device without unplugging it. The Windows Recovery Environment window will appear.
    • On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advance options.
    • Click Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart.
    • Once your computer restarts, you will see a list of options. Press the F4 key to start your computer in
      safe mode.

Once done, we suggest that you perform a system restore after booting in safe mode. System Restore will be able to revert your PC or laptop to their previous state, which can be used to repair and recover system malfunctions or issues. Restoring won’t affect
your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Right-click the Start button, and then select
    Control Panel.

    2. Search Control Panel for
    Recovery.

    3. Select Recovery > Open
    System Restore > Next.

    4. Choose the restore point related to the problematic
app, driver, or update, and then select
    Next > Finish.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.
