Windows 10: boot problems after clean install from usb stick to SSD

I bought a new 250 GB SSD and wanted to perform a clean install of windows 10. I installed windows from a USB stick and all seemed to go well until installation finished and I attempted to reboot removing the usb stick after first changing bios to boot from SSD. It wont boot from SSD without the memory stick in. When I look at the drive in disc management its showing as follows;



volume -layout - type - file system. - status capacity free space %FREE
- simple basic - Healthy (RECOVERY partition) 450 MB 50 MB 100%

- simple basic - Healthy (EFI SYSTEM partition ) 99MB 99MB 100%

(C*Wink simple basic NTFS Healthy (Boot, page file, crash dump, primary partition,)232.33GB 207.03GB 89%


ESD-USB(D*Wink simple basic FAT32 Healthy (Active, primary partition) 14.54GB 10.43GB 72%

I think some installation files have been left on the memory stick but not sure which ones are needed, I may be wrong.
It boots well with usb in but once removed and bios pointed to start from ssd it tells me to insert media and hit any key to continue as if it cant find system on ssd. Windows files are on there and I did install it to ssd but don't know what else to do from here.

Move Windows 10 from a small SSD to larger SSD

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new computer with a 128 GB SSD. I bought a 500 GB SSD to replace the 128 GB SSD with. I was told to clone the 128 GB drive to a new USB stick. Did that. Now I have to remove the 128 GB SSD and install the 500 GB SSD. Meanwhile, my OS is on
my USB stick. How do I boot the computer so I can clone the OS from the USB stick to the 500 GB SSD? Do I just change the BIOS to boot the USB stick first, and then change it back after the OS has been moved from the USB stick to the 500 GB SSD? If that's
correct, do all the USB ports show up as one in the BIOS settings?

Clean installing Windows 10 on new SSD

I have upgraded my Win8.1 to Win10. I want to add an SSD and do a clean install of Win10. My concerns are regarding the activation of Win10 after the clean install on the new SSD. I know how to create a bootable Win10 on an USB stick but will the new Win10
activate without a problem?

 

The PC boot files where created on the USB Stick....

Insert USB stick and boot into window...
remove USB stick...
open command prompt(admin) and type

bcdboot c:\windows

reboot PC without USB Stick Inserted - it should now boot into windows properly..
