Windows 10: Boot query

Hi. Trust in right forum.


Help required. I've just upgraded a friends Desktop PC Dell E5430 by replacing 500 GB HDD with 1 TB Samsung EVO 860 SSD. Limited problems doing this.


On boot I get what can only be described as an EasyBCD boot screen - I have this program on my own PC for dual boot purposes so recognise layout. Now, this program is not installed on friend's PC nor does he have more than one disc drive - the newly installed SSD.


The EasyBCD boot screen I see gives me the choice of two ?? operating systems:-


1 Windows 10 on Volume 1

2 Windows 10


I don't choose but let timer run out and it boots on 1. No problem at all.


Booted on option 2 but get recovery screen stating PC/Device needs to be repaired as a required device isn't connected or cannot be accessed ?!? Error code 0x0000000e


Only real option is hitting F9 to choose different O/S which happens to be option 1. Boots no problem


Appreciate someone telling me what's going on as I certainly don't understand it

Hello,

Please be informed that, if there are many startup items on the desktop, it will take time to boot up to the desktop screen. It is the ideal time to boot up.

Also, suggest you to run the system maintenance troubleshooter.

Its a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with system.

Refer these steps:

1. Press Windows key +X, select
Control panel.

2 . Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the
view all option on the left panel.

4. Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
