Windows 10: boot windows 11 in safe mode now I get pin is not available “ then it “click to set up pin”...

I tried to boot win 11 in safe mode. Now I get “something happened and your pin is not available “. It tells me to set up my pin. I try and it is an endless loop

Windows 11 Safe Mode PIN Failure

I've a new Asus ProArt Studiobook and need to put the laptop into SafeMode to fix Windows Defender issue (thread here if of interest). I'm running the latest version of Windows 11 (23H2). I was attempting to boot into safe mode. At the login screen, I receive the following error "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."

Troubleshooting steps so far

1. I've repeated this with the laptop LAN connected, WiFi connected, Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Network. still unable to login to my laptop via safe mode.
   
2. I've also reinstalled Windows 11 using this guide, following the Reinstall Windows 11 using installation media Keep Everything steps... I didn't fancy reinstalling all my apps. still unable to login to my laptop via safe mode.
   

Other than sending my laptop back under RMA or do a fresh rebuild, I'm out of options. Any ideas?

 

Pin isn’t available. Set Up Pin

Windows 11 on start says “ something happened and your PIN isn’t available. Click to set up your PIN again”

Click “Set up my pin” and a pop up says “search for app in app store? You need to install an app for this task. Yes or no?

Click “yes” and im back to the pin isnt available.

I have already uninstalled both quality and feature updates. Did nothing.

I also did a full reset with “save my files” because I just had to reinstall windows 11 a few days ago (wasnt working lost its sound) and just reloaded everything on there yesterday

I also have tried booting in safe mode and get the same “pin isn't available” loop.

Any help is appreciated since im locked out my pc!
