Windows 10: Booting stops on HP Elitebook G6 1040 after updating to Win 11 from Win 10

Hi,my otherwise lighting fast Elitebook suddenly stops loading when reaching the step I have included in the picture. The screen maintains black and no photo can be seen like usual. After about 20 minutes it sometimes shows a photo and I can enter my pin. Thereafter the PC works fine. However, entering the pin before this does not work. I have turned fast booting on and off and gon through a lot of tips found on the internet already. Hope somebody might help! Last time it updated itself I went back and installed windows 10 again. Last point of note. I re-ran the UEFI on board diagnostics over night, all System tests, Exhaustive, this completed 15 time with no errors.

 

Windows 11 upgrade to old (9yrs) HP pavilion G6 laptop.

I have an old (9yrs) HP pavilion G6 laptop with an Intel core I5-3210M processor. This processor is not compatible with Win 11. Furthermore, I cannot see any of the G6 supported processors on the W11 compatibility list, so it looks like I cannot upgrade to Win 11. Is this going to be the position for all time, or will more processors be added to the Win 11 compatibility list, in future?

OK, a retest of Prime95 concentrating on just the CPU with small FFT. Nothing untoward in 3 hours.









On to the GPU test.
