    Bootmgr is missing

I had my pc running last month, then when I was on my laptop it started crashing, turned out it was due to an update from malware bytes
I eventually went to my main PC and all I get now is bootmgr is missing and all I get now is a black screen

I've tried putting in a pen drive with win 10 on it to do a start up repair, system restore etc, but nothing is working

    :)

Open safe mode with command prompt:
Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Hardware method to boot to the Windows advanced troubleshooting menu:
Power on > power off when you see the windows icon
Repeat power on > power off when you see the Windows icon.
Power on the third time and see if will open the computer's windows advanced troubleshooting menu.

If you cannot open the computer's windows advanced troubleshooting menu then you usually can open the windows advanced troubleshoooting menu on a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10

For a custom desktop > temporarily change the BIOS boot order so that the external USB hard drive is on top.
Boot to the Windows 10 iso.
It may take 5 - 10 minutes for the iso to load while viewing the Windows icon
Select language, time, currency, and keyboard, or click next
    Click troubleshoot
Start with startup repair. If startup repair fails move to the next step.
Click system restore > start with the oldest restore point and keep repeating until all restore points are used. If system restore fails or if there are no restore points move to the next step.

For these steps use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
Additional commands will be based on the results of these commands.

    1) Open command prompt > administrator X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe > X:\Sources> type:
    2) c:
    3) dir
    4) d:
    5) dir

    17) bootrec /fixmbr
    18) bootrec /fixboot

So, which computer is not booting? The Laptop or the Desktop?
With the Windows installer Flash drive in, boot into Setup (Bios) go to the Security tab. If Secure Boot is enabled, Disable it or change it to Setup mode. If you see UEFI Bios, change it or add Legacy Boot. Your USB Flash drive should now show as a Legacy device. Move this to First Boot Device. Save and Exit.
Boot off the flash drive and follow the instructions in Post #4

OK if you are at the Advanced Options and Startup Repair, System Restore, and Command Prompt using the Commands in post #4 don't work, then choose Go Back to Previous Build
If all else fails, be prepared to reinstall Windows.

sounds like it, as nothing is letting me go back.
Still to do all the CMDs
No previous builds to go back to either.

I'm wondering if the SSD has failed?

If it's a reinstall, i'll go back to an HHD
