This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened. I was on both PCs this morning and everything was fine. This afternoon WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING UNUSUAL, I GO TO OUTLOOK and find I'm on the online version - not my local version. This has happened several times for the last fer months - for no apparent reason! I have asked about this several times and end up Reloading the entire MS365 because the responses have not worked. Why is this happening and how do I fix it or at least log into my local app?The online version HAS NONE of my Contact / People data!

    :)

  2. DarWun Win User

Switch Back to Existing Local Account from Microsoft Account

I already identified that I had tried this, and that it did not allow me to switch back to the original Local Account. The Microsoft Account hijacked the User Name of the original Local Account. When I click "Sign in With a Local Account instead" and enter
the original User Name, Windows 10 won't proceed. The only way to get back to a Local Account is enter a new User Name.

  3. Windows 10 - Wrong Microsoft Account linked to local admin account - no Sign in with local account instead link available

Thanks for the response. What I suggest you do is to switch to a local account and then switch back to your Microsoft account.

    Here's how:

    • Sign in using the Microsoft account.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Click Accounts.
    • Under Your email and accounts, click Sign in with a local account instead.
    • Type the password of the Microsoft account and click Next.
    • Under Switch to a local account, click Next.
    • Click Sign out and finish.

Once you're done switching to a local account, you can now set your new Microsoft account to associate on your Windows 10 computer. Make sure to type in the correct email address you want to associate to your PC. Follow the steps provided above and click
Sign in with a Microsoft account instead to set up your new account.

Should you have further questions, let me know.

    Cannot switch to local account

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in using Windows 10.

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

    • Click on Windows button, then click on
      Settings.

    • Click on Accounts then click on
      Your account
      .

    • Click on Sign in with a local account instead.

    • Following the Online instructions.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

    • Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

    • Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.

    • Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.
Hope this information helps you. Please do let us know if you need further assistance.
