  1. Both physical and on-screen keyboards do not allow me to type in my Microsoft account...

When attempting to "Verify my identity" on Windows 10, or "Fix it now" regarding my Microsoft account, the password entry field will pop-up. However, while my cursor does blink in the field, I CANNOT type anything within it. Whether I use different keyboards I've tried 3 different keyboards, or I try to use the on-screen keyboard to enter my password, nothing shows up.

When signing in via Chrome or a browser, it works just fine! But on my PC itself, it doesn't work.

I've also already used the System File Checker to find and correct corrupted files. Turns out some were corrupted. I have since restarted, but am encountering the same problem as before-- no change. If possible, I would strongly prefer not to reinstall Windows 10 to fix the issue. It'll take me like two whole days to reconfigure reinstall everything again.

    :)

  2. Keep the screen keyboard open when typing using a physical keyboard

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want the screen keyboard to be open even when you tap a key on the physical keyboard.

I would like to inform you that, screen keyboard is designed in such a way that if any key on the physical keyboard is used the keyboard will auto hide itself; this is to make the keyboard utilize less screen space when not in use.

However, I commend you for the observation and I would suggest you to provide a feedback using the

    feedback hub app
on Windows 10, so our engineering team can look into this and try to implement the changes in upcoming builds.

want to use manual keyboard----not on screen keyboard

    Hi,

The On-Screen Keyboard is an application which provides a visual keyboard on your screen that can be used in place of a physical keyboard. To better assist you and provide you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Is your physical keyboard not functioning?
    • Have you tried turning off the On-Screen Keyboard?

To turn off the On-Screen Keyboard, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Click on Start.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Ease of Access.
    • On the left panel, click on Keyboard.
    • Under On-Screen Keyboard, make sure it is set to Off.

We'll be waiting for your response.

Both physical and on-screen keyboards do not allow me to type in my Microsoft account...

Both physical keyboard and On Screen Keyboard not typing the letter J

    Hi,

My desktop is running Windows 10 with the latest updates. I am facing a strange issue since last 2 months. The letter "J" is not displaying on screen when I tap the letter "J" on the keyboard. Strangely, I am not able to type the letter "J" even with the
on-screen keyboard. All other keys work fine on both the physical keyboard and On-Screen keyboard.

    Please advise,

    Regards,

    Simon.
