Windows 10: Brand New Aspire Windows 10, can't get past Cortana set-up, keyboard won't type.

I bought a BRAND NEW Acer Aspire 3 A315-21-93EY and everything looked perfect, everything sealed, but it won't type. The Cortana voice walks you thru the set-up with the blue screen I've done this a zillion times with new laptops, not hard but I'm dead in the water after seconds of turning it on. I clicked the YES button for 2 questions are you in the USA? Do you prefer English? and it moves forward to inputting my WiFi password, but it won't type it, so after tearing my hair out I settled for forget the WiFi, move forward with limited set-up. Then it asks what I want to name my PC and I

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• Check and verify if Cortana is activated?
• Does Cortana search and gives any output/result on screen?
• Is the Language and region settings set to valid value?
• Check and verify if Cortana available in your region?

Method 1:

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check if she talks. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

• Open Cortana.
• Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
• Go to Settings and click on off.
• Follow the same steps to turn it on.
• Check if issue persists.

cortana won`t talk to me

Hi the location button wasn`t working so Cortana couldn`t go any further than the "allow" option in the search box--I went to task manager/services and found a geo location service that was disabled and when trying to enable "specified file not found" there
was another that depended on RPC that wasn`t working.

I went back to settings and pressed the "I don`t want you to know me" button and cleared all my location/interests from the computer

I then pressed the "getting to know you button" and the location button started working again--and Cortana appeared !! The setup had to be done all over with Cortana.

Using my AVG TUNEUP TOOL/defragmentation I also discovered after the reset that I was 25% fragmented--which I fixed.

During the processes I tried activating the mike through the speech recognition using the HP Webcam mike--the mike worked but not Cortana

I then used my mike (headset) (Logitech) that I used with my Majicjack for telephone through the computer. the notification sounded off and the device setup activated so it must have found the files it needed.

There were components removed and a list was saved to my desktop that I did not see. IDT AUDIO was one of them and got downloaded this morning
