  1. Brand new clean windows 10 install - BSOD

I have run the tool and am attaching the file per the instructions. My computer is brand new and crashed while I was not even at my desk. I had nothing really "active" running. Hoping you guys can help me pinpoint what driver might be causing this. Thank you so much in advance for taking a look!

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - dxgmm2.sys BSoD

This is a brand new (clean) Windows 10 install. This is a clean install of the video driver.

  3. Creator's Update opt out?

I have a brand new Gigabyte Laptop that only supports Windows 10.

I installed a fresh clean latest version of Fall Creators Update and my computer literally BSOD minutes after installation.

Creators Update is a piece o crap software full of bugs. Fix the bugs, give time for drivers to be made and then release the damn update.

Dump points to the Nvidia video driver for your GeForce GTX 970 as a a possible cause. Lots of problems with Windows 10 and nvidia drivers.

Since this is a brand new computer, I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer or the place you bought it from and get them to fix it.

Otherwise, try running Geforce Experience and see if it finds a better driver for you. Looks to me like you have the most recent available but

  5. Thanks so much for your help. I built the PC myself so I'll be the one fixing it haha. I am on the latest driver, if the crash happens again, I'll roll back to a previous version to try and resolve. Thanks for checking out the dump file and letting me know the cause!

  6. Ok so I updated to the latest driver released today and it happened again. This time I was playing overwatch when it happened. I have attached the latest bundle. Is it still the video driver? *Sad

This dump is from USBXHCI.SYS (Usb xHCI Compliant host controller).
Driver is dated 10/29/2015 which isn't very old at all.

I suggest going to the ASUSTEK web site. There are BIOS and Chipset updates available. Do the BIOS update then install the Chipset.

  9. Just reporting back on this, after a few more crashes, finally discovered that the cause was an FIIO USB DAC headphone amplifier I was using. After removing the FIIO USB amp and just connecting my headset directly to the sound ports on the mobo, and uninstalling the FIIO drivers, everything has been completely stable. No more crashes, no more errors, etc.

    Thanks for all the help!

    Good work finding that one.

I need to remember to ask people to remove all externally connected devices except mouse and keyboard when debugging.
