Windows 10: Brand new computer - Windows 10/Microsoft cannot communicate with the network or maybe...

Brand new ASUS ROG computer tower, first issue I noticed was the Window Dialog boxes never showing up and I am unable to Alt+Tab to them, so installing games/software required waiting 5+ minutes to get a prompt to continue the install.The main administrator account is local, but adding a Microsoft account with an outlook email is impossible. When I go to sign in on the initial page I do get the pop up from Microsoft to enter the password, but once I enter it I get a few minutes of loading and then returned to the sign in screen. Can't sign into the Microsoft store, Xbox, Halo infinite, absolut

I suggest you to download and install the latest audio drivers from your computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.



As you are mentioning it is a brand new computer, I suggest you to check with the computer manufacturer customer support and check if it helps.

How to Dump Networking Parameters?


Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.

I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Network discovery might be blocking you from seeing other computers and devices on the network. Check if the Network discovery is turned on. If the network discovery setting on your computer is set to off, you
won't see other computers and devices on the network.

Steps to Turn on network discovery.

• Press Windows key, type sharing and click on
  Manage advanced sharing settings.
• Under Private, Network discovery, check mark the option
  Turn on network discovery.
• Try the same on all the computers connected to the network.

Method 2: If the issue still persists, run
HomeGroup troubleshooter and check.

HomeGroup troubleshooter finds and fix problems with viewing computers or shared folders in a HomeGroup.

• Press Windows key, type troubleshooting
  and select it.
• Click on View all in the left pane and click on
  HomeGroup.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.
