Brand new microsoft bluetooth 3600 mouse will not connect to my laptop - windows 10. Tried everything

Cannot pair brand new Microsoft Bluetooth mouse 3600 with brand new Lenovo X1 Windows 10 Pro

I cannot pair a brand new Microsoft Bluetooth mouse 3600 with a brand new Lenovo X1 laptop running Windows 10 Pro. Lenovo Bluetooth driver is up to date. Laptop Bluetooth manager rarely sees the mouse but still cannot pair showing the message to check if
the mouse is still discoverable. Any suggestions?

Do let us know if you have tried the below:

• Have you turned on the mouse while connecting via Bluetooth?
• Were you able to connect any other devices via Bluetooth to your laptop?
• What is the complete error message of this issue?

Step 1: I suggest you to download the driver for the mouse from the below link, try to install and check if it helps.

Software download for Mouse 3600

Choose the appropriate operating system and try to install the software.

Step 2: I suggest you to refer to the below post replied by

Here are my answers on your questions:

• Have you turned on the mouse while connecting via Bluetooth? - Yes, it was blinking and ready to pair
• Were you able to connect any other devices via Bluetooth to your laptop? I finally managed to pair this MS 3600 mouse to move it very close to the back of X1 Laptop and it finally paired. I have a feeling that according some reason the signal from
  mouse was very weak (even it had a brand new battery)
• What is the complete error message of this issue? The message was "Mouse was disconnected"

So, I am OK for now, but it sounds strange that it took so much efforts to pair and that I needed to place the 3600 Mouse ~ 2 inches to the back of X1 Carbon laptop.
