Brand new PC with Win 10 mouse right click not working

I have just bought a brand new Viglen Omnio 5 all in one PC pre loaded with Windows 10. Everything works fine except that when I go into file explorer and try to right click on a file to edit/copy etc it just hangs and locks the whole screen. The mouse works perfectly on everything out of file explorer. I know this problem has been around for a while but I cannot find a solution anywhere. Because the OS was preloaded I don't have any driver discs. Anybody have any ideas?

    :)

  2. Change font size on MSN News app

The solution listed below from MS support does not work because there is no swipe up function and the right click doesn't bring anything up. Have brand new Win 10 convertible PC

    FROM THE MS support site:

How do I change the font size of articles?

    • Select an article to read.
    • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen or right-click with your mouse.
    • In the bar at the bottom of the app, tap or click the Text Size button and select a

    stuff that don`t work

I have tried connecting external mouse, the right click worked for 1 minute and since then never. Day before yesterday right click worked for less then a min on my own touch pad mouse (have a toshiba laptop L750-1MG), and since then not. And I can not open
New Notifications since the day of free upgrade to win 10.

How to check if I have all latest drivers for win 10 (for touchpad and external mouse it says that they are the latest drivers and working properly)?

Check to see if your mouse is working properly
Is the right button just not working.
If you have another mouse, use that to check

Thanks for the advice Tom27w. The mouse is brand new and works on everything else so I don't think its faulty. I have read the stuff on the link and its about reloading Win 10 which I cant do as it was preloaded or reverting back to 8.1 which again I cannot do. I have been trying right clicking anything anywhere and even on the desktops right clicking a file will freeze everything (you get the lovely rotating blue ring permanently) whereas right clicking a link works okay.

    Anybody have any ideas?

  7. Run sfc /scannow from command prompt Admin and see if that finds anything.
Have you used the latest drivers for the mouse.

Brand new PC with Win 10 mouse right click not working

    Troubleshooting suggestion only :
Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
    sfc /scannow

    > press Enter.
    It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
    1. No integrity violation.
    2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
    3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    > press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

Okay it's fixed and this is how. I bought the PC from Tesco and I phoned their help line and a very nice chap talked me through doing a full reset of Win 10 and it worked!!! I have had to reload my files but that was no hardship, loading Office 16 back took the longest and at each stage I have checked to make sure everything is okay on the right click and it is. Just 60 gb of files to transfer and all is complete!!

Isn't it a great feeling that you are able to fix the problem by yourself ?
    Nice work.
    Happy computing.
