    Brand new Seagate 4TB inaccessible


    When I double click on my brand new 4TB Seagate external drive I get a message saying that the F drive is not accessible. Access is denied. It then also shows a message stating that 'This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action.' Never knew that you needed an app to open a hard drive...... Windows gone crazy again. :-


    I have tried formatting it as it in NTFS as it came as exFAT. Problem persisted.

    I have installed the Paragon driver, cleaned the drive via cmd, reformatted it, tried to change ownership denied, and performed about every 'trick' I could find on the internet, but it still does not let me access the drive.


    There is something in the OS stopping me from accessing the drive. There is nothing wrong with the drive as I can open it on a Mac and use it without any trouble. It clearly is a Windooz issue.


    Anybody have any suggestion as to what is causing this misery?

    Disk Management shows new 4TB disk as 2TB despite using GPT

    I have only just noticed that the volume list shows the single partition on that as 'disk0-partition2' - so where/what is partition 1?

    Windows Backup can't find my seagate 4TB drive

    Current build is Windows 10 Home version 1703. Seagate 4tb is formatted in ntfs multiple times now. I'm not getting error messages. Windows does find my other external disk Western Digital hdd 500gb in the back-up center but not the 4tb Seagate.

    When I use right mouse button and then click automatic play on the Seagate 4 tb there is no "configure station for back-up" button but for the Western Digital 500gb it does appear in automatic play...

    Unable to detect Seagate 4TB External HDD

    Hi

    I have been trying to plug and unplug the Seagate 4TB External HDD with my Mac Pro which run Windows and was unable to detect my HDD. what is the cause of the problem and how can I recover it? Anyone can help or advice what should I do? Thanks
