Brand new Surface Laptop running 11 not recognizing external montiors

External monitor hardwire worked fine yesterday. Come today, Surface Laptop won't recognize any external monitors. This Lenovo external monitor continues to work perfectly with Mac laptop. Tried to force detection in settings and does not detect. Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver mine is AMD Radeon and nothing no rollback option appears, probably because it's a brand new laptop. Ran all updates including looking for any optional updates... nothing. I even downloaded and reinstalled the driver directly from AMD... still nothing. Did MS kill my driver with a bad update? Am I a

What external dvd burners are supported by Windows 11 running on a surface pro 6?

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

Generally, Windows 11 should be able to support most external DVD burners, as long as they are compatible with the USB connection on your Surface Pro 6. However, it's possible that the specific driver or software for your external drive may not be compatible with Windows 11.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check if your external drive is recognized by your Surface Pro 6 when you connect it. You can do this by going to "Device Manager" and looking for the external drive under "DVD/CD-ROM drives". If the drive is not recognized, try connecting it to a different USB port or restarting your Surface Pro 6.

If your external drive is recognized but you're still having trouble burning a DVD, try using different burning software. Windows 11 has a built-in burning feature called "Windows Disc Image Burner", but you can also try using third-party software like Nero or ImgBurn.

Make sure you have the latest driver for your external drive installed. You can check the manufacturer's website for the latest driver and installation instructions.

If none of the above steps work, try connecting your external drive to a different computer running Windows 11 to see if the issue is with the drive itself.

Overall, it's important to ensure that your external DVD burner is compatible with Windows 11 and that you have the latest driver and burning software installed to avoid any issues.

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

    Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

    I've completed the following:

    • Updated laptop drivers and firmware
      • Updated monitor drivers
      • Swapped out monitor
