Windows 10: Brand new, unused email LOCKED

I just created a new email address, to use only for specific things. I created it just a few days ago, and by the next day, it was locked "for suspicious activity". I hadn't even finished moving accounts to that email address thankfully. I have been able to change the password, once, I went to log into it after changing the password and locked out again. I've been dealing with this, since about Monday Feb. 27, 2023.

I ran the troubleshoot power option and it said “Display brightness setting is too high”

but it’s a brand new laptop, i should think I could expect the most from it.

I haven’t tried the next steps uou have suggested yet.

 

Lock Screen Notifications for New Emails - W10 Mobile

Lock screen (quick status) notifications for new emails have become increasingly intermittent over the last few months. I've had my 950 XL since last May, and this wasn't a problem in the beginning.

I go through frequent periods where only about half of all new emails received result in notifications on the lock screen. Doesn't seem to matter if on Wi-Fi, whether at home or at the office, or on cellular. When phone is first turned on the in the morning,
notifications are there as they should be, but throughout the day, it'**** or miss (mostly miss).

And more recently, a previous related problem popped up again - the action center notification icon that appears at the top of Start screen not disappearing automatically when
new emails and texts are read. That has to be done manually.

Review of Feedback Hub indicates these are widespread issues. I have provided much feedback there myself.

I was excited when I saw the recent Outlook Mail app update, which I installed on 1/10/17. After installation, lock screen notifications were received and action center icons disappeared automatically
for 3 days, both at home and in the office,
but has since returned to the above behavior.
It's as if the app update somehow "refreshed" some trigger or function to cause the process to work only temporarily.

This makes me wonder what/where the real problem is:

• the mail app itself
• some conflict in the notification settings between the mail app and other areas (e.g., Notifications and actions, Lock Screen)
• lock screen functionality
• action center functionality
• some hiccup in whatever process there is that lets the phone know there's a new email, and everything that happens after that
• going to/from different Wi-Fi environments (i.e., home, work, etc.)
• I'm using an AT&T MicroCell to improve cellular signal at home. Would this interrupt the process in any way?
• some overall software functionality issue
• one or more of any of the above

I've gone through the standard lineup of troubleshooting:

• all notifications settings checked
• soft resets
• unpinned/repinned live tiles
• uninstalled/reinstalled mail account
• unselected/reselected email "quick status" icons

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
