    Bridged Networks and SMB on a NAS


    I have a wireless connection to my router, and a wired ethernet connection to a Synology NAS. I want to bridge the two adapters, so that the NAS is visible for SMB shares on the local network and also has a route to the internet.I have been going round in circles and though it sometimes works intermittently, nothing I do seems to survive a reboot. I presume this means there's an IP conflict somewhere!Settings:Router: 192.168.1.1Host PC: 192.168.1.214 Bridged Network: Static 192.168.1.215 / 255.255.255.0 / Gateway 192.168.1.1 / DNS 192.168.1.1. TCP/IP over NetBios enabled.NAS: 192.168.1.212 /

    Network bridge suddenly stopped working in windows 10

    Hi Shantanu,

    To isolate your concern, we would like to know how your network bridge is connected? Is it a wireless connection or a wired connection?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you set up your network bridge to refresh the adapter and reconnect the other devices. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • Add Incoming Connections from the Internet.
    • Bridge the two network connections that you want to use.
    • Forget the internal network connection (under
      Manage Known Networks).
    • Reconnect to your bridge network.
    • Restart your computer and check if your concern persists.

    I am experiencing difficulties with accessing, discovering and connecting to my NAS with SMB connection from Windows 10.

    I have tried most of the solutions suggest on the Web, but avail, none of them worked.

    • Enabling SMB v2 and restarting
    • Checking SMB v1 in Windows components is ticked on
    • Etc.
    It seems that Microsoft has broken something though their patches

    If anyone can supply me with a permanent/ final fix,
    not workaround, please post it here.
