Windows 10: Brightness adjusting option does not exist after upgrade to WIndows 10

I have a HP Envy laptop initially came with Windows 8. I upgraded the operating system to Windows 10 but I am no longer able to adjust the brightness. The slide bar for brightness does not appear anywhere: not in Display setting even the f2, f3 keys on the keyboard not doing anything. I updated the driver of my graphic card several times through the HP support and even Intel device support. Even tried installing the Microsoft Basic graphic card, nothing worked. Really got frustrated. Appreciate any help.

Adjust Screen Brightness and Resolution in Windows 10

The screen brightness adjustment keys of my HP Pavilion laptop are not recognized by Windows 10. It is so bright that it is harming our eyes. Also, I followed the suggested alternate steps from many websites and none of them worked as the brightness adjustment
option is not at all available even not inside Control Panel.

Please note that before installing Windows 10, I got notification that my laptop is compatible for the upgrade. Can you please help?

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
• Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.

I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article, try the troubleshooting steps suggested to change the brightness and check if it helps.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.
